Default TIRES -- 2007 4.2 S-Type

Need new tires for my S-Type. With only 29,201 miles I am still driving on the original Michelin XSE MXM4 235/50R17. They look great but are over 10 years old.

Don't want to install top-of-the-line tires because they will 'age-out' before they reach high mileage.

Looking for a safe all-weather tire that is quiet.

Have looked at Michelin Premier AS and Dunlop Direzza DZ102.

Any recommendations?

Thank you...

That General tire is indeed a bargain but my research tells me it will not deliver the treadwear mileage I demand. It was on my list but the bang-for-the-buck winner for me when I pulled the trigger back in late October was the Continental PureContact. It comes with a 70,000-mile treadwear warranty and while I don't expect it to do that, I think I'll get 50,000 miles out of the tires if I keep the car that long (and that will leave me with a 20,000-mile prorated adjustment towards the next set of tires). The PureContact tires also came with a $70 Visa debit rebate card (which arrived in the mail about a week ago)....

Ordered them from my local Discount Tire branch. My car also runs size 235/50R17....

I replaced the Michelins on my S-type with Continental Extreme Contact DWS,235-50R17.I am very happy with them---quieter than the MXM4 on my car. They are wearing well so far,12kmiles,and are really good in the wet. My car is winter stored. The Tire Rack have them on clearance for $120 per.

Just as a matter of interest we have Continental PureContact on my 2012 Subaru and my daughter's 2008 Outback.(I would have put them on the Jaguar if they had been available at the time). I am really impressed with the ride, lack of noise, snow performance(I came through the Wisconsin snow storm a couple of weeks ago) and wear--I have 25k miles on mine and noticeably less than 50% worn.
My daughter's car is driven in the Rockies all winter.

Same size that was on our old 2000 S-Type. I put Hankook Ventus V4s on it and they were smooth and quiet with great handling. I got them from Pepboys when they were doing a buy 3 get one free deal.

Default TIRES - 2007 4.2 S-Type

Thank you all for your recommendations.

Buying tires is never cut-and-dry. That said, I am going with the Continental PureContacts.

Thank you, again, and kind regards,
