Has transmission fluid ever been changed? Year? Where in TX are you?

I was recently having lurch and shift problems/jerks in my v6 2004, I took it to Bill (Brutal on forums) in Houston, he did Tranmission service and software update and car is awesome now!

Thanks,
Rizwan

Sounds like the classic 'lurch' symptoms. Do a search here, you'll find dozens of threads about it.

This might be helpful:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...on-sale-44570/

There is a lot of info on the forums how to do it (but of course its not that easy to be done by everyone). I had it done at dealership.

And do some search on forums you'll find all the information you need.

Thanks,
Rizwan

Default Transmission needs service?

Purchased a 2000 S type 4.0 with 97k new car to me. Seller has great service docs but no sign of trans service. He told me after driving 3-4 hours that there was some slight shift issues. So now after having the car for a few days no issues, no trans light on dash. I do notice a slight delay in shift from first to second gear and a light noise. Slippage. Not grinding almost a low whirl. Thinking filter and fluid would be the first step. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Jay- note that the pre-2003 (2002.5 in Europe) cars have a completely different transmission than the later models- none of the troubleshooting or fixes read across AFAIK.
