Default Trim fasteners.

Can anyone tell me where I might be able to find the little fasteners that hold on the trim pieces that go just above the window seal on the outside?
Thanks.

You are probably right. I'll try them.
Thanks!

And for $100 the question is..."what piece constantly seems to break on the STR's rear driver's side door?" Did I win?

Mine breaks like clockwork every 3-6 months on my '05 as it did on my '03. Since I've been under warranty the whole time, they choose to replace the whole trim piece that surrounds the exterior door. In fact, they've replaced it so many times that the field rep has made a visit asking what I do differently with that door. Other than put my briefcase behind the driver's seat everyday - the answer is "nothing".

The fix that made it the longest on my '03 is when they actually epoxied the trim to clips along the entire door frame. It was still in place (after 9 months) when I traded it in. When I bought my '05 with 14K on the clock, I was presented with, yes, another trim piece that was broken in the exact same place.

It appears the weak link is in the bottom back corner where the top trim piece meets the bottom trim piece that runs parallel to the window. I'm having my 5th replacement piece (on the '05 that is) put on next week.

If this is your problem as well and you find a good fix, please let me know.

Best,
Eric

Wow. And I thought our S-Type owned the "Fix Me Again" record since its fuel filler door latch assembly has had to be replaced a total of three times....

I'm passing the trophy on to you....

Mine is the passenger and drivers front door trim. The passenger side was caused by the window going up to far due to a bad regulator but now that the window is fixed the clips are so badly damaged that they no longer hold. I am hoping replacing the clips AND some good adhesive will do it. I'll keep you posted.
P.S. Mine was in 6 times for a leaky expansion tank and they never did get it fixed.

My 05 is having the same problem. I guess I will order some new clips and try the epoxy trick.
