Default Trunk

Hey guys !

I was wondering if the trunk should open by itself fully ? When i press the interior trunk button or the key fob button, it just unlocks ( dont know how to say it in english ), i have to lift it a bit and then it goes. I am watching 2000 s type videos on youtube, and they open fully when the button is pressed.

It should open fully on its own, make sure the rubbers aren't sticking and or adjust the springs.

From memory, as i no longer have a s type, the might also be some rubber stoppers that the trunk rests on, you might be able to adjust these to give enough momentum to the trunk lid on opening that it opens all the way

Check that the hinge isn't rubbing against the trim panel. Mine does that and sometimes it doesn't open itself (I haven't got around to fixing it yet).

Turns out my springs are softened. we managed to stretch them just a little and now it opens when the car is on a hill. I am now looking for a set of springs.
