Default Trunk Release doesn't Respond - any ideas?

I think I have just about figured out how everything works on my new kitty but can't seem to get the dash truck release button to open the trunk, nor does the button on the trunk lid work either????? The key opens it as well as the key fob. Any ideas. The manual says the exterior button is suppose to work if the car is unlocked, I'm thinking the same for the interior trunk release button. It still doesn't work. I'm looking at fuses and I find two that refer to the truck release but they are also combined with interior dimming lights switch which works perfectly. Any ideas, suggestions or help would be appreciated. Thanks

Check that the Valet button in the glove box is not pushed in. It will not allow the trunk to open using the interior release button.

What a simple fix! I kept thinking it had to be something simple. Thanks for the help and this just confirms the value of this forum and that total strangers are not really strangers anymore!

Hopefully I can help out a fellow Jag owner!

Default The Book

If you got the manual with the car, It's in there. I had the problem once.
