Upgrades Sway Bars
Merry Christmas to every one in the forum
I am new in this forum and I have a S type R 2003 (actually no mods)
I am searching from a lot of time somebody who produces custom sway bars for our car
Could someone help me?
I need bigger sway bars (front and rear), I'm driving up and down on very difficult highways and the body roll of this heavy car it's quite difficult to control in critical situation

I drive 4 times a week a very difficult high-way (Genoa - Milan)
The S type R transfer weight isn't precise
The spring and shocks are going to be changed with SPIRES, but the only way to solve my problem are upgraded sway bars
But it seems that nobody produces this parts for S type

I think I will contact FERLITO who raced a Jaguar S, for sure they upgraded sway bars
On race it's impossible not to do it
I hope they will lead me to a solution to my problem
Elsewhere I will ask to Eibach to produce them custom
I will keep you informed
On all my cars I spend my budget mainly on handling and less on power
Has no sense to have monstrous power and no way to put it on the ground
After shocks coils and sway, I will go for an LSD (torsen type)
do you think that somebody of this forum could be interested in make a group buy to Eibach for upgraded sway bars?

The sway bars have not been raised in the manner you're raising either here or on the UK forums as far as I recall. (Not often or recently.) They need fixing from time to time, especially the fronts. Various bushes are more prone to cause trouble, as has been stated.
Obviously, check TSBs and FAQs.
The LSD, however, has been raised (but I think not solved) more than once - go for it!

I have a tuning garage specialized in racing cars and supercars ( Aston Viper Ferrari Porsche ecc. ecc)
Usually we source our parts from the standard market, but sometime we have to custom made our special parts
LSD = we are thinking to contact Quaife and see what they suggest, in case they do not have a product, we will "customize" another LSD
SWAY BARS Eibach answered that they could produce them for us (3 mm thicker) the cost it's quite exagerate and the lead time it's 8 weeks
Before goingo on this way we will source other ways

How long have you had your Jag? I've got a 2003 S-type R and I did not see anything in that video that the car (stock) could not handle. I've only had mine for a few weeks now, but I have gotten used to the handling and would not hesitate to push my car through that stretch of road, even with the traffic. IMHO, the traffic would much more of a concern than the sway bar on the STR...

It's not a trouble, I can drive it everyday without any problem, but the body roll it's too much.
The weigth transfer is bad engeneered, or tuned for another market
OEM sporty cars I drove are less bouncing in direction change

I don't think Croc is saying that anything is wrong with his sway bar.
He is in Switzerland and his english is good but not perfect,I think he is asking about handling upgrades for an S type that travels the Swiss mountain roads at very high speeds (allowed in Europe)If you have travelled mountain roads here in the US (at low speeds)you know body roll can be dangerous. I think he is trying to get sports cars suspension from a car that is slightly less appointed.Don't know if he has an STR or S type.
Any of you owners that have experience with suspension upgrades should chime in and give your thoughts.This is a heavy car that will be difficult to eliminate body roll on steep roads at very high speed. IMHO.

Depending on year, you will have to go aftermarket. From 2002.5 to 2004.5 the supercharged cars had a different sway bar. Prior to 02.5 and after 04.5, all cars were fitted with the same sway bar, one for the early production and one for the later production. And, I should add, only the rear bar changed. The front does not offer a supercharged model. Just VIN splits for different bars.

He says he has an STR, as have I. His description of the handling does not appear to be at all like my experience and I'm not known for driving slowly. I don't know what speeds he's going round corners, however. But - the sway bars commonly need replacing with age and his probably have not been. Plus, various suspension bushes also commonly need replacing and again his probably have not been. If he's relying on the service stamps it's almost certain they have not been replaced!

We get the answer from a good source
The problem is not sway bar
Spring and OEM shock are too soft for a strong use
Sway bars are 32 mm front and 18mm rear, the dimension is right
There is a coilover set that solves the problem ( Eibach + Blistein custom made)
This setup should give the right feeling

Before fitting anything:
1. what's the mileage (or km)?
2. have you checked that all the standard suspension items are working properly?
3. including: is the CATS working properly, or is it disabled or even disconnected?
(you will need a dealer diagnostics system to find out - ordinary OBD will not do it)
