Default V-8 4.0 S-Type 1999 Stand-alone engine

Would like to use my 4.0 V-8 engine in another vehicle! (boat) Only the engine, no transmission!
The engine is still in the car and works very fine (only 200.000km) All the parts needed can be taken from the car (donor)
Does anyone know if its possible to change the ecu / electronics in such a way that the engine becomes a "stand-alone" ?
Another option could be to make it run on LPG (propane) and the whole petrol injection (and ecu) is not needed any more.
The only thing needed with LPG is an ignition. Are these ignitions (as a complete kit) for sale??? Or do i need to build an ignition myself?
Thanks for all possible answers and ideas!

there are many brands of stand alone gear , i would use Haltech.
Have a look here , under products , they have every thing you need , and may even have a start up map , you will need to talk to them to make sure some one near you can tune it on an engine dyno . and also that there gear is compatible and able to splice in to your engine harness .

A lot of hot rodders use MegaSquirt | Premier DIY EFI Controller for engine swaps.

The 4.0 uses a Ford engine management system and I've not been able to find any aftermarket support for it.

See what you can find for Ford / Visteon PTEC 32-bit, it's not even the old trusty EEC IV or EEC V system...

So your only hope has a standalone ECU, take your pick.
