Hi,
I renew an Automatic transmission gearbox on an S Type X 200 year 2007, now the car will not exceed 15 Km/h and will not go above 2500 r.p.m on drive “D” and “R” but on neutral the acceleration is fine. I can feel that the car will change only the first and second gear. If I press the kick-down from start I can feel the power but as soon as it reaches 15Km/h and the rpm touches the 2500 no acceleration can be felt even if you presses the kick-down switch several times. Sometimes when I switch the ignition ON engine not running I can see “Pedal Adjust Inhibited” message appears on the dashboard. I removed the Accelerator pedal position sensor, clean it but the fault appears again. So now I don’t know what to do. Am waiting for your help as your help will be much appreciated

X200 would be 1999–2002
you say it will not rev above 2500rpm in D and R but in N it accelerates fine, i don't understand, if you mean rev, then in N it should not rev above 3000rpm ish.
Is 15kmh a high enough speed to go through 1st and second gear ?
I'm not trying to pick fault with your post i'm just asking you to clarify a few things so you can get the advice you need.

taken from his thread on the uk forum
I thought these cars should not rev above 3000rpm in p or n
Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes when the car is on "P" or "N" I can rev the engine to 8 R.P.M without any difficulty or misfire. But as soon as as I drive it and it reaches 2500 R.P.M and about 15 Km/h the car will not go more. for the gear changes I can feel it, if I drive the car with a light throttle i feel the gear changes but as soon as the rpm reaches 2500 rpm the car will not go more. Sir can you tell me what is “Pedal Adjust Inhibited”. it appears on the dashboard when the ignition is in ON position.
hope this is more clear and i can solve the problem.
I fit a new Automatic transmission.
Thanks
