Default Waking the cat

First time poster here, I have a 2003 S Type with 48K mi on it. It has been sitting for 10 yrs. in my garage, I live in So Cal. Long story short, the water pump went out and wasn't able to fix it at the time, until now. I have to be able to start it to get it out of my garage so it can be towed. What do I need to do to do safely? Aside from the mentioned water pump, what can I expect to need to have replaced due to it's long inactivity?

Which engine is fitted to the vehicle?

Here are some items to work on if the vehicle is being prepared for use after ten years:
  • All fluids must be replaced and the fuel system drained and flushed.
  • The fuel pump should be replaced as they tend to seize if the vehicle is left unused for extended periods.
  • Fit a new battery
  • Replace the tyres
  • Inspect the engine compartment and wiring looms for evidence of rodent infestation and or wiring loom damage

engine is a 4.2L V8, thank you for the info. Rodents shouldn't be a problem but I'll check anyway. For the fuel pump, I did some reading and was wondering, would I need to replace the whole thing or just the motor inside. Saw a video on this, however I know quick and cheap is not always the way to go, but these things are kinda expensive.

You can change just the motor once the module assembly is removed from the tank.

The module seal should be replaced as well as the fuel filter, which is behind the LH front wheel arch.

If I have a shop do the work you mention here plus the water pump, what could I expect in terms of a ballpark $figure, barring anything else that might be "discovered"?

It is tough to put a dollar amount on something like that. This video may help explain the estimating process:
