Water in trunk
I have a 2007 S-Type and while cleaning I checked in the spare tire area and to my surprise I have water in some of the recesses. I checked but can't find where its coming from. I haven't found any dampness in the trunk (upper area).Has anyone experienced this and give me heads up from where its coming from.

This issue is a PITA, but I know some members on here have found the actual spot where water was entering and re-sealed. Seems to be common on our STypes. Good luck man.

Dmax... Wow, water leaks into the trunk are pretty unusual in 05 and up cars. The 00 to 04 cars were notorious for leaking in around the tail lights. When the rear quarters, deck lid and tail lamps were redone for 05 it seemed to fix the issue.
I would look into what Bull suggested, with the trunk seal and adjustment.

Our 2005 model showed evidence of a small trunk leak only a few months after I purchased it. New rubber trunk seals all the way around fixed the issue. Our factory warranty was still in force at the time and covered the entire cost. No trunk leakage issues since....
I've also modded the fasteners that hold the taillight assemblies in place since in my opinion they're not very well-designed or placed. I added some rubber grippers to the plastic screws. These grippers pull the assemblies tighter against the rear deck frame they are mounted to and further snug up the seals. Is it necessary? Don't know, but I never liked the original design and felt that water could ingress during a car wash and hose rinse....

Thanks to all who have given me a starting point. What I've found sofar is the water is leaking under the seal by the trunk latch. What I'm going to try to begin with is what STR suggested.Since the seal looks like its in good shape I'm going with using silicone on the seal and metal edge.Hopefully this will be the fix. I'm lucky I caught this before the water got into the electronics.Sofar everythings still working.
The other that was suggested is adjusting the trunk. The only adjustment I've seen is lowering the latch so the trunk has a tighter fit against the seal. Are there more adjustments that can be made?

AllData lists 21 locations under service action S501-09 Water Leak Diagnosis and S501-11 Leakage into Rear Footwells for my 2000 s-type I would call or go by Jaguar and ask if a service action or a TSB is in order for your year car. Gathering this information is only going to help you locate and identify the exact origin of the problem. In the interim pull that plug as suggested, you do not want or need moisture reaching you electrical equipment. Good Luck and I hope this helps.
