Unhappy a waterfall inside - sort of...any idea ?

Hi All;
After 2 days of on/off rain, today my kid noticed that the rear, driver side belt was wet... after further investigation, extreme bottom corner of the seat was wet - I've lifted it and sure enough - the bottom cover under the seat was soaked.. as well as the whole belt inside the winding mechanism... Is this a sun roof leaking ??? ( my suspicion).. or is from somewhere else.. The car has been parked all the time, and the parking spot is not level - goes lower toward the street... I don't think it's rear window or door... Any one has any idea or went thru the same thing ??? How hard ( expensive)would be to re-seal sun roof ???

Haven't had that happen but I would see if your sunroof drain is clogged first.

There are four moonroof drains, two in front and two in the rear. From your description, your drivers side rear moonroof drain is clogged. Gotta pull down the headliner on that side, find the black rubber drain hose, pull it, and blow it out with compressed air. I had to do our passenger side rear moonroof drain last September. There are several threads on the forum that will take you through the process. Search using "clearing moonroof drains", do some reading, and have at it....

Here is what you are looking for. You will need to do this mostly by feel because it's hard to pry everything apart enough to see. Plus you don't want to damage anything or kink the head liner.

The hose has very heavy ribbing on it. On my wife’s 2003 LS the hose appears to have shrunk in length a bit and I had to use a small worm drive clamp to keep the hose from pulling off again. For some reason the S Type does not suffer from these hoses pulling off but they can and do get clogged occasionally.

Our 2005 S-Type's moonroof drain hoses are not ribbed. They are solid black rubber with a smooth exterior....

These drain hoses tend to clog after years of dirt and debris wash through them as a result of rain, car washes, etc. Not just Jaguars, but all vehicles with moonroofs....

Thanks I did not know that! Surprised they would use different hoses but that probably explains why the S Type does not suffer from the hoses coming off.

Thumbs up Solved - I hope

Ok - first of all - I would like to apologize - I've should have searched the forum first...but I've panicked.....
Ok - so - I went yesterday and followed the instructions on getting to the sunroof drain lines - and all were connected ( btw - from what I saw - it's practically impossible for them to get loose... and they are black rubber all the way).
I try to blow the RL one ( the side that got wet) and I couldn't.. so - searched for the other end ( under the car, between the bumpers, if anyone needs that) - what I found is that the end was snug against the plastic of the bumper ... with a small amount of dirt - it could have been clogged... I was able to cut a very small piece, so now it's free, and not touching the bumper. - then tried to blow it again - no problem at all - I could hear the air coming easily out of the end...I hope problem solved - it supposed to rain again tonight and tomorrow - will see if this solves the problem. Just in case - I did not put the bottom cushion and the c-pillar back yet... want to make sure it is fixed first.
Sorry for the long write-up.. And again - Big thanks to all that responded and the forum over all - the best resource ever...

Jan
