Default What are the "STANDARD" options on the S-TYPE?

I'm really getting confused while shopping online for an S-TYPE 03 or newer.

Some of them I see the heated seat buttons by the gear shifter where the traction control button is and some of them I do not, but the owners (or dealers) that have the ones without the buttons pictured say they have heated seats, so where are the buttons for them?

What about the telescoping wheel, the adjustable pedals, and parking sensors.

I'm looking at 3 cars, all of them S-TYPES.

One of them is a 2003, another is a 2005, and another is a 2006.

I like the looks externally of the 2005 the best with the rims on it. The 2006 rims look to be smaller and cheaper? But the 2005 model doesn't have any wood accents on the interior. It's just getting really confusing and the dealers don't know. I don't want to buy something online and drive half way across the country to find out it's missing what I want. I do want heated seats living in Indiana in the winter time.

My 2000 S Type "heated seat buttons" are on the verticle facia just above the cigarette ashtray that is on the center console, right under the climate control display. As for the options on the vehicles you are considering, spend the money, run the VIN's for "stuff" that is in vehicle. Your local ford/jaguar dealer service dept can run the vin's to see what warranty work has been done on the vehicles, and this info can also provide the options that are in the vehicle when it was built.

I know the heated seat buttons are supposed to be there above the ashtray but some have them and some dont. The dealers that have the ones that don't swear their cars have the heated seats. So where are the buttons?

Me, I would make the dealers prove to me that the seats are heated . As far as I am concerned, no buttons means no heated seats. I have had several cars with heated seats from different manufacturers and the seats ALWAYS had buttons on the dash/console area to turn them on or off.

Thank you for those links and yes they did help. Just doesn't make sense that telescopic steering wheels and adjustable pedals standard on a V8 but heated seats are not???????

Jaguar goes through all the trouble to make their seats only leather and then doesn't bother to heat them, may contribute to their resale value.

Well guess I'll have to keep looking for the buttons on the models I'm looking at.

Thanks again!!

P.S. - The ones that don't have wood trim, what is it? Pictures make it look like carbon fiber, aluminum, or just vinyl???? I can't really tell.

ted, you are correct about the heated seat buttons down by the ashtray on 03 and up. The ones without wood are a sport package option and come standard with wheels that are optional on the luxury models....i just wrote back earlier to your original post in the new members section...i had some specific links of cars I thought you would like in your budget, did you see them?
