Let us know what happens, mine chirped well enough, but still did what it wanted.

My biggest pet peeve is the automatic park brake motor that isn't strong enough to release the park brake when it's below 40 degrees so I have to sit in the car while it warms up for about 5-10 minutes and THEN it will release so I can drive the car.

If you have two right hands it is easy to hold down the park brake lever as you switch off the ignition, then it won't set.
For the rest of us it is a little trikier.

I practiced today and didn't have to smell the landfill!

Start with recirc in the OFF position, mash the button down until it chirps twice-about 5 seconds--and it will stay on until you turn it or the car off if you just push it once it will chirp once.

I was also reminded of a cosmetic annoyance.. The headliner on the sunroof cover has a black streak--like it's rubbing on something greasy.. Any idea on the cause and suggestions on the cure?

So yesterday I was checking in my trunk for a battery issue and I noticed that the warning message "Boot Open" was displayed.

So I had a thought. I wonder if I change the settings from British english to American english if that message will change to "Trunk Open"?

Nope. Outrageous!

How strange. My car was originally configured to read out in french. As I changed it over to English, I initially chose American English and thought I saw it display 'trunk'. I wonder why Jag bothers with the two choices if they get that obvious one wrong?

There something mechanically wrong. My EPB releases immediately irrespective of temperature, even in -25* C weather or worse. Running the engine should make no difference as none of the EPB components are anywhere near the engine or hot exhaust components.

hmm, 8yr old car.... maybe EPB motor/cables need some cleaning and greasing..... there again, motor's in a really awkward place!

I think WinterJag also suffers (appropriate word?) -40 kind of temps so wonder if his acts up?

Funny Bob, I observed that my Daughter's 03 displayed the "Boot Open" terminology to a co-worker at lunch one day who keeps-up an 01 S-Type for his wife. He was incredulous saying his reports "Trunk Open." Checked the 05 I try to keep up for my wife's driving pleasure and it is also "Trunk Open."

Can't recall...but the 03 either says "Hood Open" (not bonnet) or does not give a caution. 05 definately says "Hood open" I would think Bonnet would go with Boot?

No 'Hood open' on my '03. I think simply looking forward through the windscreen/windshield is an adequately effective indication of status.

Why not go underneath and find out? Maybe it's simply gummed up cables or calipers like mine was. Better than getting stuck or sitting waiting everyday..............

After a full battery charge and a resetting of the all the parameters it still reports "Boot Open".

This is critical guys!

My biggest peeve.

I pulled up at home, got out the car to open the gate to the drive leaving the car running, then car locked me out! Thankfully I was at home and was able to get my spare keys. I now carry both sets with me. A slight peeve, the heater doesn't blow hot, but as it doesn't get really cold here I can't say I miss it.
