They may well take the view that before getting involved in codes you make sure the really basic stuff is OK. That would include working battery, air in tires, fuel in fuel tank and coolant in cooling system.

Those instructions say to discard & replace an O ring / rubber seal, but if it's in good condition and you don't overtighten then you're not in the same position a dealer tech is. They need to replace it so they can be as sure as they can that the job won't come back in a year (or whenever). (I'd probably replace it, as once you have it apart you may as well and heck it's 6 years old, but I may have a rather closer dealer parts dept than you LOL.)

Actually my wife works for the group that owns the Jag dealer, as well as the Land Rover, Volvo, and BMW dealers and I get a nice discount on everything from parts and labor to a new car! I'll probably pick up a new O-ring, can't be that much for a little ring!

Well, it's been a while but I got my new intercooler pump just the other day and installed it yesterday. The job itself is really simple. There is actually more room then I thought and only a single bolt, so anyone thinking about doing this job go for it, it's easy access and not hard to remove. All you need to do is drain the coolent, which is also easy, and I decided to add fresh stuff anyway since it was drained out anyway. Replaced the pump, cleared the code, went for a drive and all seemed good, then up popped restricted performance. I was sort of expecting that since the car was still warm from when I drove out to my parents place to do this work so there was lots of residual heat still in the intercoolers to get rid of. After letting it cool down and going for a drive again, restricted performance is now gone and everything seems fine! So, if anyone ever gets a P1474 code on their STR, replacing the intercooler pump should fix all that!

I spoke too soon! The problem is back! So, it is not the pump causing the problem. Here is what has been done so far:

1) Replaced intercooler pump - still have problem
2) Powered old pump with 12V and it works fine - again pump not problem
3) Filled and checked cooling system and supercharger cooling system - all good
4) Did notice something that looked like corrosion on the connector pins of the old pump - could be problem

So, either tomorrow or Wednesday I'm going to take the pump out again and check the connector for corrosion as the pump works, but pump failure is all that can throw the P1474 as far as I can tell (correct me if I'm wrong!) so it must be some kind of power supply problem. So, besides checking the connector and then following wires looking for a problem anyone have any ideas?

Nothing else springs to mind but I'm sorry to hear the problem's back. Corrosion on a connector is often on both mating parts so try to get a good look at the part still in the car. It may "just" (access may be dire) need cleaning.
