Default What exhaust mod?

Hi all,
Looking for some advice/info on best exhaust mods for s-type R.
Knowing a lot of you have already been there and tried many different set ups I would like to know what is recommended or preferred to unleash the best growl from these big cats?
I've already had some custom tail pipes fitted and it sounds good but I think I'd like to get that bit more sound from my car.
I removed both rear tail pipes and drove the car for a bit without them prior to having the new ones fitted and liked the noise from the car but would have preferred a cleaner sound (less broken/burst exhaust sounding).
I would really appreciate any advice or info which any of you guys may have on best set up from downpipes back and also which parts i would need.
I already have an exhaust guy who can fabricate something on request so don't think I'll have any problems having him put the best bits together.
Thanks all,
Steven

Steven,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to S-Type forum. This is the place to post tech questions about your model.

Im still loving the new sound.. a solid yet not obtrusive burble at idle and a sort of linear rising bark at full tilt.. cruising is also great.. I have turned my radio off and have the driers window open when driving , just to hear it.
It doesnt have the ultra responsive dynamics and crackle some of its competitors have..more an express train thing.. just keeps rising

A nice understated burble back when it gears down while slowing
Any 1/2 decent semi performance exhaust shop can do it..
Easy to get back to stock , I kept my old mufflers
Shaved off at least 20lbs or more
you can only really go for circular single tips due to the rear valence cutouts

what I got was a perfect blend of comfort yet the sound of performance.. not over the top and not a cop magnet.

sound even better from outside evidently

Hi,
I've had my rear mufflers/tailpipes replaced with something similar and its a definite improvement on standard but think I would still like that bit more noise or rumble and would like to know what others had opted for in regards to x-pipes and free flowing cats.
Thanks for both your input
I'll need to get a photo on here of the tailpipes I've had done but being in Scotland as u can imagine it's not the best of weather at this time of year
Thanks, Steven
