What is the fastest 1/4 mile time with a STR?

what does this have to do with anything.
apples to oranges, my friend
I think the GTR is the most overhyped vehicle in the history of automobiles.

I love the gtr, they drive great and do haul azzz
but i think avos with 600hp has to be the fastest. Besides youre only gonna get 1 shot at anything faster than a 11.0 before you get kicked off the track for no roll bar
9.99 and you need nhra lic., pyhsical, trans blanket, roll cage(not roll bar), multilayer fire suit, 5 point 3" seatbelts. Helmet, neck brace, a whole host of other crap to keep you and the track safe, i know i forgot alot more..oh and a parachute if you run faster than a 150mph

I know all the track rules, I used to build 25.3 certified chassis to run 7.50's or quicker

Oh how do I miss the welding and bending of chrom moly
I dont thin the car will ever see 11's....after all it is my lil' daily driver.....I would like low 12's though....
I know the AVOS w/ the XKR is making some good power w/ his KB swap......
That might be in line for next year for me.....But wanted to know what people are doing with the STR.....Something to shoot for, and beat

I hear ya.....Life goes by fast, and we just try to keep up!
Trust me if and when this motor goes, something a bit more domestic and powerful will be stuffed in it for fun, because by that time I will have anotehr lil daily driver.....
I am in the process of scouting around for a roller of a 78 vette......Then it will be time to pull out the tig welder, and pipe bender for some fun!
I never seen so many computers on one car than this Jag......makes for changing much kinda hard......the thought of doing 2 lil turbos have jogged into my head several times

Really?? Try to beat my customers '67 Camaro- 4.11 @177mph in the 1/8 mile.
SuperJag is right, what does that post have to do with the original question?
I'm curious to hear some times also, if the snow ever melts here, I'll be taking my '03 STR to the local strip and will post some times. Unless of course they are embarrassing!

Would like to test my car, but drag racing is not so common here in the EU, and I do not know where I could test in my neighborhood.
I do expect good numbers, but I will have a handicap with traction issues (even with LSD), and the 4200lbs weight of my car (with me in it).
Nevertheless will see if I can do a run somewhere. If anyone knows a place arround the netherlands/belgium, please let me know.

I'm sure there are some Elapse Times (ETs) below my runs with corrected ETs according to Density Altitude (DA). I was talking with a guy in the western US and I believe he was "calculated" to run ~12.7 with his mods. But due to the high elevation (extremely thin air) his documented ET was ~13.7 seconds.
Attached are some of my best times on a cool day last Fall with exhaust mods. My best time was 12.916 at 107 mph.
I no longer have high flow catalytic converters. They failed and they were too noisy anyway. I have not had a chance to run at the track in the cool air since installing a 2.6" pulley (3# pulley). My new dyno numbers indicate I have bit more power now. So, on an ideal day I may now run a 12.90X ...or maybe even a 12.89X.

I'm going to the track on Sat the 8th, this will be my first time racing in the STR and the first time racing in an automatic. If anyone has any good launch techniques they would like to share, I would be grateful....tire pressures too. I will have all spare weight removed, 93 octane, high flow cats, mid pipe muffler, and the intake elbow so I am anxious to see what I can get. Unfortunately it won't be as cold as I would like (firebird raceway in AZ). I will post some positive results soon

update this thread with your times. My mods are similar to yours. Except this summer i think im going to throw on my nitrous kit from my gto and spray like a 75 shot and hope for low 12's on street tires maybe high 11's if i get super lucky. Launching wise in my experience was to leave the traction control on and turn it off after the launch. But i've never got the tires hot to be fully sure if thats the best way.
