Lol, Bob! Don't lob those kinda softballs at me!!!
yes! I really can read the text on my Droid. But under full disclosure ; it WAS bad-fuzzy on my 15" laptop and my 17" desktop. Probably couldn't have read it from either of them if I hadn't written it.

Just called my 11 yr old over to have a go:
"R_e_m_n_a_n_t_s" (didn't know the word) Then read the rest of it.

Tell the wife it says, "this is what happens when wives drive the Jag instead of washing it."

My two girl friends couldn't read it either. Maybe it was the Sheen on the monitor ...

Default Throttle body

Someone needs a new monitor or if you're like me, new eyes. I can make out the "TPS connector after sealing..." comment, but it is a bit blurry. The TPS plug is finicky as I discovered. I had a throttle body failure which after being replaced led to a second throttle body failure a few weeks later?!?! At least that's what the codes stated. Puzzling until I pulled the engine cowling off and gently moved the TPS harness while the engine was running. Went into limp mode immediately. So I gently pulled the TPS plug off and very carefully squeezed together the female ends of the harness plug to tighten them up and carefully re-fastened it. Put the cowling back on and it has worked perfectly since. It's been a few months now without incident. It only cost me $2,298.25 for an unnecessary throttle body replacement. Oh well.

BIG OOPS THERE.

The plug with the two wires is the motor that works the throttle plate. The connection with the four wires goes to the throttle position sensor. The two outside wires are (+) and (-) from the ECM computor. The two inside wires read the throttle position and sent that info back to the ECM. The four wire connector is the big money maker for the dealers. The wiring should be checked before changing the Throttle Body. The lock button releases by pushing it inward. I sprayed mine with WD-40 to get rid of any moisture and then disconnected and connected it several times to fix the connection. It got rid of my P0121 code.

Good Catch. Don't know if it's how it works universally, but on my PC, JTIS puts the text on the right, with pictograms on the left, one at a time. So a list of 6 or 10 steps and one pic. As you click the arrow next to a step, you get the pic. I "thought" step 2 (disconnect the throttle position sensor) was selected when I got this picture. So I called it the TPS.

As it turns out it seems as though either my video processor or monitor is having issues. So maybe that's why I can't see it on my system? Though nuthin' else is fuzzy? Let's just call that text box a visual challenge and my monitor/system sick too? I ain't got 20 something eyes but they're not quite that bad yet.

That picture must be being squeezed into your display using a non-native resolution. In English, displaying a picture that is physically 1024x768 onto a, say, 800x600 display will cause some pixels to be squeezed or omitted. It's usually most apparent in text. There's probably nothing wrong with your eyes.

When I call it up from the directory in Windows Picture and File viewer, either of them are clear and legible. However, not so much when I click on them from the site or just looking in the post. It was all just an exercise after I wondered in front of God and everybody how some people (Joyce'sJag, for instance) can put the pics in the post, rather than as thumbnail attachments. Rick pm'd me the knowledge and I looked around for what I had in pics that might contribute to an active thread. Decided since we were talking/showing 3.0L throttle-bodies here, my misfortune might warn someone else, so I stole one of Rick's Pics and then added a couple of my own, doctored with text. The text immediately showed me I had further learning to explore. I think if I do any "how to's" I'd best stick to making a pdf so I can see exactly how it is looking and then post it as attachment.

Thanks to all who have indulged me in my learning process. (or at least have endured it!) Also appreciate the comments/criticisms, as they help further the quality going forward.

Bob, I thought you said "your" two girlfriends couldn't read it...not Sheen's....get him off your monitor and into rehab, eh?

I just hope the "extended warranty" holds up.

Remember this one "I'd rather have two girls at 21 than one at 42" W.C. Fields.
