Default What a joke!

Have you guys seen this STR on ebay?

ONLY $2,800.00 in damages.

I love the description. Is the seller stating that the damage was done on their lot?????

Rediculous. IF the damage was repairable, fix it at cost and sell it. They aren't going to pay that much to fix it as they are a dealer and second if not repaired they are going to have to take a loss of much more thatn $2,800.

Wouldn't touch this one....and what the hell happend on their lot to damagae the subframe? Unless, it was oon the lot to be sold and someone like an over eager salesman flogging the car wrecked it

Yikes - "Sub-frame bent" and being "SOLD AS IS"

Two telling signs to stay away from this one.

For a car with this much damage, the starting bid price of $9000 also seems too high.

That dealer has alot of ***** to say this accident wasn't reported to the police, in other words it has a clean history, but yet the ebay auto check shows 2 accidents in the history. Another deceptive dealer, its a $3500 car, great miles tho.

Likely sell for $7700 max. Pick her up cheap then let the body shop straighten her out.

NADA retail 18K. Looks like it's hit all over. Makes you wonder why they quit on it. If the 6spd subframe is different, that may be hard to find used. I could see near $2800 just in paint and bodywork.

I wouldn't pay 9 for it but even salvage would bring a lot more than $3500. I paid $4900 for Laurie's a year ago with a salvage title. I would rather have got it before they started screwing with it.

alot more then 2800 in damage, looks like the core support has been pushed back, no coolant in the res so who knows how long its been ran and over heated, he has plenty of photos but non of the frame because im sure there is plenty of extra damage under there. Its worth more in parts.

That's why I estimated 7 grand max will take this low mileage cat, along with $4,000 of bodywork and mechanics putting her back together.

Speaking of buying wrecked cars....how bout this.

2011 FERRARI 458 ITALIA - QCSA Direct

Highest price I've ever seen for a salvage car and it ain't done yet. Wonder what it would cost to fix? How much for the missing suspension bolt? You think 9K is high for a banged up Jag.

Edit: I just looked at the estimate. The "front bumper cover" costs 9 grand......same as the Jag. Un freakin believable!!!

Is the seller REALLY a new car BMW dealer?

That amazes me. Up here they will only sell CPO BMW Pre Owned. Much less trying to offload some test drive gone wrong...

I wouldn't touch that thing with a 10 foot pole.

Take care,

George

10-4 to George. After thinking over this most unfortunate STR; she's not worth it unless a reputable body/frame man says she's salvageable. Even then, I'd only pay 6 grand for her as is with the anticipation of sinking another 4 grand into the bitch.

And you'd be right around where I could pull a clean title one out of one of the dealer auctions for you...

I have said this many times, but unless you own your own collision repair facility and labor is virtually free, or have a connection to export the car to another country where it is rare and much more valuable and the salvage designation is meaningless the general public should not mess with salvage cars.

Most of these cars, both of these criteria are met. I watch these guys at the dealer auctions bid the heck out of these salvage wrecks, and let me tell you - not to be politically incorrect but English is generally not their first language.

Food for thought

Take care,

George

Ahh...this one has a clean title. Not arguing with what you say but the Jag listed is not a salvage car.

My bad.. I didn't realize this one still had a clean title..

Regardless it's worth about half of what he's asking for it. And I'm willing to bet that when the dust settles that someone without a shop would end up having more into it than an equivalent ready to go car without such a checkered past...

Take care

George

I would offer $2800 for the car. Just looking at the pictures you're looking at about $10K in repairs or more.
