HE will touch the inner fender liners at times, but only at slow speeds.

THE S-Type can fit a monster truck tire in the rear wheel well, as long as the wheels offset is right (which these are).

I got the dormans, they went on with the Vulcans.
Got them from rockauto...

Well thats good news that the rears will be fine, I had a horrible time with that and my wife's saab. It was actually hitting the front lip of the wheel well over large bumps.

Sorry to hear you overpaid for those lugs

My aftermarket 19's did that.

It's all about offset. Look at our STR wheels, 9.5 with a 275 tire and room to spare...

Do the front wheels rub on the inner fender liner at full lock?

George

Mine rubbed at slow speeds with the wheel fully locked like pulling into a tight parking space etc.

No big deal..

I'm wondering.... why will they rub? The STR has 18" and they don't rub so why will those 18" ones rub?

He's using an XF tire fittment. 245/45/18.

The S-Type calls for a 245/40/18 tire. So the tire is about 1" larger overall diameter than Jag meant to be on an S-type. Hence at full lock, it may touch the inner wheel well liners.

Thanks,

Bought it online (ebay motors). I forget the supplier, but if you enter s-type spoiler, I'm sure it will come up. I had mine painted by them. It's attached by a 3M super adhesive tape. Once it's on it's on Brother. I was really skeptical when I bought it and even when I received it, but once I put it on it looked GREAT! I've had a ton of positive responses from people. I think it definitely adds something to the look.

Do you have any closer pics of it?
(I know I asked for a pic of the grille too)

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhh run for the hills. A thread from the dead started by CarSmartNot....AAAhhhh

Red you brought up a dead thread from 6 years ago from a young man that us old timers heres had enough of a long time ago.

You also are asking question from (and thanked) a former member, I believe he has moved on in the past 5 years! I just read a recent thread today that has a post or 2 about XF wheels on an S Type, I would look there for answers.

LOL....goes to show you...same old problems but hopefully new solutions. No comments about previous posters, as they've moved on to other vehicles.....and other forums.

Few XFs turn up as part outs yet...but on occasion someone goes aftermarket and lets the OEM ones go on Craigslist. Not a priority but if a set shows up....

Frankly, I'd be happy for a set of stock 16" wheels to show up on CL. My 2001 had the most hideous set of black and chrome aftermarket 18s on it when I bought it. I've actually been tempted to snag a set of 5-spoke 16" alloys from an early 2000's Ford Taurus from the local junkyard and put on the car. I tried the wheels from my Thunderbird, just for kicks, but they're 15s and won't clear the front brakes.

A few sets I looked at on EBay listed for XF were almost exactly what I have on my ST already. The other aftermarket 20" wheels, in my opinion, really didn't reflect a luxury car.

Default need to buy a rim

The 2000 S-Type I purchased did not have a spare tire. Just bought new tires and tried to buy a rim and the tire dealer could not find one that fit. Where do I buy a new (or used) rim for this car?

Thanks.
