I'd expect to see around 28ish but it depends on your driving and the type of roads your driving on.

I get 8mpg in city center in rush hour, 26mpg on a cross country a road run, and 29+ on the motorway, but mines a 4l v8

There's a long-running thread on mpg on Jaguar Forum.co.uk • Index page but I think the main results are:
1. many don't run a jag for its mpg
2. over a longish run, the diesel does best (earth shattering or what?)
3. to get decent numbers you need to do brim-to-brim fills and use a calculator
4. if yours is much different to similar cars, or changes much (other than due to the seasons), it's a handy hint that something's wrong (but not much as to what it is that's wrong)
5. the STR isn't much worse than the others (except diesel) if you avoid booting it - but does anyone? LOL

Well, something like the above.
