Hmm..Interesting story.
Dealer cant sell me OEM belt for 2003 STR because they no longer make that specific belt. The replacement belt is different and will not fit... and so requires changing, bracket, tensioner and pulley....
BTW price for parts only is $ 400.00
At lease the dealer was honest and stated to just get the aftermarket equivilant belt.........

The deal with the factory belt is that they update the idler pulley to being ribbed instead of flat. The new belt is the same size, but ribbed on both sides. You can use it, but I really would recommend doing the complete update if at all possible. It seems like a much better design.
We sell the factory belts for $51.56, and the complete setup with the belt for $233.15

The original SC belt is no longer available from Jaguar - when I replaced my belt last month I did not want to spend the money on the updated design (I understand it was for a cold start noise issue which I have not experienced). I got two belts from ebay, one to put on the car and one to stash away in case I ever needed it:

Seller is 'europeanpartssource', they were good to deal with. No extra shipping charge for ordering more than one belt, even though they actually had to send them from different warehouses - the one from the closer warehouse arrived very quickly.

Thanks for the information! My 2005 STR had a small squeak when cold. I was under warranty and mentioned it to the dealer. I was very surprised when they replaced the idler and tensioner along with the belt. It was so minor I didn't think they would replace all those parts. But now I understand why.

Not sure how much smaller the upper pulley is going to be, depending on that you could consider a smaller size then stock like the gates K080514, to be get for $22 or so on the net. These belts are top quality ones, use them myself (think actually Jaguar used these, but have no proof)). For standard pulleys you would require a Gates size K080520, but interestingly that size is not avialable anymore.
For standard pulley sizes you could try Goodyear with partno 4080520 or Dayco with partno 5080520, but I have no experience with these brands.

The dealer told me that the 2 sided is only for the new application, and that you need to replace the tensioner, bracket and idler. OEM and aftermarket direct replacement is one sided

the ebay link in this post looks to be accurate. i verified this against these 2 places as well which pont to the same belt model number after the vin cutoff code

use goodyear gatorback belts, theyre known to grip over smaller pulleys and eliminate slippage. After I had 2 custom blower pulleys made for my Nissan(smaller blower pulley, and larger idler to comphensate for smaller pulley, still allowing me to use the original setup since its a baztard size) I picked up 1psi on the top, so evidently I did have slippage.

If you need a belt the ebay one should fit - I'm running it on my 2003 STR right now, it works great! As far as I know, C2C26235 is the right part number for all of the old style (one sided) STRs. I don't think they changed anything with the supercharger belt or pulleys until the double sided update.

contact these guys for custom pulleys for everything from wider 8-10-rib, larger idler pulleys to change belt sizes or keep same size belt when going to a smaller blower pulley. underdrive pulleys etc. they do BMW's, Benz etc and custom stuff all day long. He has made pulleys for me in the past and very reasonable.
