Default Wheel repair.

I know we all have this problem so I thought I would share this since I just put a huge scuff about 2/3rd's around my rim!

Here are a couple of pics of one of my rear wheels that I refinished. I got rid of all the curb damage on the rears and I am going to do the fronts soon. They were really nasty before!

It took about a day (5 to 6 hrs) per wheel to fill in the curb damage with putty, sand, prime and paint the whole wheel and clearcoat. I also cleaned all the break dust off of the back of the wheel, blew all of the brake dust out of the brake system, installed dust free Kevlar pads and painted the park brake calipers. Most of the time was paint drying! Yes I do usually keep it very clean.

I know but it was something that I just started doing and next thing I'm done and then I thought awww I forgot the before pics! I can only tell you that the rims around the tires were scraped pretty bad almost all the way around when I got the car and it really ruined the look. Next time I'll get before pics.
Thanks for the compliments!!

Something I was thinkin of bad......as my wife seems to be drawn to kerbs[&:]
I dont think she uses her eyes when driving so much as uses " the force"........unfortunatley the force is not strong with her[&:]

I was thinkin ( like Buck ) about buying another full size rim for a spare to replace the space saver and do them on at a time

I just left the car on the jack for the afternoon while i did mine and I did one each weekend. I was going to get the full size spare like you said but too lazy! There is really no protection from the curb. I hit one myself, about a 6 incher at the bank and it killed me. That's when I decided to do the repair.
