Where can I get the best deal on brake pads (Akebono) and rotors ??
Went to Jag Dealer today for oil change and I need new front and rear pads and rotors. Going to go with the Akebono's due to the forum suggestions, and will probably stick to the standard vented rotors.
I have checked out Rock Auto and Auto Parts Warehouse which are within a few dollars of each other. APW has free shipping though which will save some $$.
Anyone have a better website that they suggest?
Also, is there a better brand rotor (EBC, Zimmerman, Centric, etc.)

Went on Auto Parts Warehouse and can get all rotors (Zimmerman) and brake pads (Akebono) for $403. No shipping, no tax, and using a discount code I found browsing the internet. Seemed to be the best deal I could find after looking on Tire Rack, discountbrakes, Rock Auto, and other sites.
I was wondering the same thing about the rotors and found some opinions on-line that suggested rotor replacement (as did the dealer).
Rear brakes are at 1 mm and front are at 2 mm. I am going to go ahead and replace all the way around and use this time to get some G2 and paint all the calipers.

Oddly enough, Amazon.com has great prices on pads and rotors. I just bought 4 centric rotors for about $300 and 2 sets of EBC pads (8 pads) for about $250 from there last month.
Also bought the EPB pads from Napa for $85.
August was an expensive month for me: 4 new tires, 4 new rotors, 6 new sets of pads, plus one new Brembo caliper.
Part numbers for the curious:
Centric front rotor: 120.20018 x2
Centric rear rotor: 120.20019 x2
EBC RedStuff Front: DP31462C x1
EBC RedStuff Rear: DP31140C x1
Napa EPB : UP-7872-M x1
As for the tires, I purchased Michelin Pilot Super Sports- so far so good.
Edit: I would recommend checking your EPB pad to make sure there is still plenty of pad bedding left before installing new rotors, as I've read other threads on here where old EPB pads will destroy new rotors if the pad is too worn.

No need to replace rotors unless worn but it is sometimes less hassle and money to just do it all at once.
I even cut my rotors and the car is smooth as glass. Jaguar does not recommend this but I have almost 50K miles on the cut rotors with no problems.
I had hell finding the parking brake pads anywhere but Jaguar. Finally got them from Discount brakes. Good to know NAPA carries them too.

Most places don't show any difference between the years
If you have an 06 like your sig suggests you should double check and mention that you know they are different (most sales reps don't know) don't order online without speaking to someone on the phone,
I went through this some time ago.
Also at the time Akebono pads were not available for 06-08
I even phoned the head office.
Some searching on here should pull up the old threads,Also you have no park brake caliper

Did a brake overhaul recently, went with the red's, and sort of regret it. Thinking of having the rotors turned and trying out maybe the akebono's everyone recommends.
The Red's dust like crazy, despite being advertised as 'low-dusting'. Granted, the dust comes off super easy with just a wipe from a dry towel.
Their kevlar-ceramic material is supposed to be very hard and takes a lot of time to 'take-up' the shape of the disc. I followed EBC's instructions, but close to 10k later, and I'm none too satisfied. Under low brake pedal pressure braking, I get a lot of steering wheel shimmy, a-la warped rotors, but they're not warped (doesn't do it under medium-heavy pressure), leads me to think its the pads.
I think the problem is my STR is a commuter, and the way I drive it, these massive brakes never get a chance to get worked hard enough to properly brake-in the EBC red's. Either way, with my driving habits I think I'll skip the 'high-performance' pads next time around.

Does anyone know the part number for the '06 - '08 STR? Auto Part Warehouse has two different part numbers for the Rears W0133-1847635 and EUR592, which are both listed for '06 - '08 fitment. Ordering from an on-line vendor I would like to make sure I'm getting the pads that will fit my car. The front is listed as EUR938.
Thanks!
Thanks!

MY STR has 65000 on it now and still running the factory rotors.
The centric's stop nice with less dust than factory.
Also they were only around $79.00 total 4 wheels delivered IIRC.
Yes it is nice not having to deal with that extra park brake caliper and pads, they usually run at least $100.00 just for those.

I went with Place for Brakes in Miami. www.placeforbrakes.com
$175.99 shipped + FL tax for my '05 STR w/Brembo.
AKE EUR938 - front ceramic pads
AKE EUR592 - rear ceramic pads
and they take PayPal.
