Being British, Jags are actually configured for North America. That said, the same models are available in the US and Canada (Mexico as well). The ultra rare manual trans S was a 6cyl only sport package car (notice the body color bumper trim?) There are more pre 2003 refresh models out there. That makes the one listed here even more rare. Post refresh, the manual was only around for 2003 and 2004. For the 05 re-skin, the manual was dropped from North America due to poor sales.

Interesting stuff, thanks. I'm quite familiar with the manual gearbox (and leaperless) S-types in the UK, but was surprised to learn that any made it over here in the colonies given our typical disdain for such things.

Has to be a 3.0 though, non? I've seen a few 3.0 manuals in Montreal but never a 4.0. Nicely optioned though.

Nope, no V8 with a manual trans. It was V6 only. That is for North America for sure. I don't think there ever was a V8 manual anywhere, but now I'm going to check.

I have a 2003 3.0 sport with a manual transmission. I believe 2003 was the last year Jaguar offered a manual for the S type and I don't think they ever offered a manual with the V8. I have seen non sport models with a manual. The manual is manufactured by Getrag, and Getrag does not support parts nor does the after market. If you have an internal problem, the fix according to Jaguar is "new transmission". I don't know if the automatics also have a lack of parts support. I have enjoyed the manual and have not had any trouble other than a linkage bushing that was replaced for under $100.

Quebec is a much smaller province and I have seen two. Impossible that Ontario has the same number.

The last year for the manual was 2004. Everything from Jaguar that I've read states that the manual was a sport package car. It would be really neat to see a non-sport manual. I've never seen one. I wonder if they are "luxury package" cars? They did that with later year R's. The standard STR had sport trim. If you ordered a luxury package (maybe it was called premium, I'm not sure) they basically put the chrome back on. I've seen those before, but they too are real rare. The autos are either Ford from 2000 to 2002 or ZF from 2003 to 2008 so there are parts support for those transmissions.

Default S Type with Manual Transmission's for sale

In doing my research I have found an S-type w/manual tranny in California with only 42k miles for $12900...guy will go down to $12k. It is a bluish/silver and is in mint condition.

There is also a silver S-Type w/manual tranny in Texas with 52k miles for $10900...guy will down to $10500 out the door.

I had a deal on a Black S-Type w/manual tranny in Florida with 42k miles for $10k...he was originally asking $12900.

I am really looking for a black S-Type with manual tranny for $10k or under. I know about everything that is listed the traditional way. If anyone here is thinking of selling or knows someone please contact me at djrmueller@gmail.com. I am a cash buyer and know exactly what I want. This is one gorgeous car and with the manual tranny is the perfect match.

wtf????? Is that the only language you know.... Yes it is 5k because it has high mileage and a stick.... While rare, stick shift cars are always worth less. Why bother with a comment like that anyway, it's not like you're going to go to Florida to pick it up...

Without throwing another tantrum, can you give me a quick rundown on exactly what specifics you're looking for in a car and what you expect to pay? I'll be glad to keep an eye out.
