Window trim repair question?

I would love to replace the rubber black trim as well. Mine looks just like yours.
As for the chrome, mine is black but I would assume they are applied the same way. There are clips that hold these on, a couple broke on mine, and the trim piece was seperating from my car. I had to buy them for cheap from the dealer. They will just pry off but you will most definately ruin some if not all clips. From what I remember there are 6 on each piece of trim.

Unfortunately, this is normal oxidation for the window trim. When our car was still under factory warranty last spring, I asked my (then) dealer to replace it. They refused, citing that cosmetic replacement of this trim had been ended by Jaguar Corporate a year or so before....
I find that using a small amount of plain chrome polish and then a good coat of carnauba wax on the chrome trim makes it look 200% better for varying periods of time (the look lasts longer during our cold-season months)....
Rick (joycesjag) removed his window trim and had it mirror-finished last year by a metal treatment shop in his city. I believe he spent about $100 on that project and I assume it is holding up well. When he sees this thread, I'm sure he'll provide an update for you....

Spitfire, Jon was correct here is a link that will tell you exactly the procedure for a mirror finish. On the rubber use Meguiars Ultimate Protectant Dash and Trim Restorer available at Advanced Auto NOT Auto Zone.
Any questions please ask!

Fantastic Rick! I'll hit the local Canadian Tire here as they carry the Meguiars line - hopefully they'll have the product.
As for the metal trim, I'll have to find a local metal polisher before I tackle that project.
I've recently refinished my headlights with the 3M Headlight restorer kit and they look like a million bucks now - it's just the pesky trim and rubber that stick out like a sore thumb. But I love these little projects on my car so I can't wait to get at them!
