Default Wiper Arm - 2003 S-Type (Fixed)

I have a wiper arm on the passenger side that tries very hard to wipe the windshield but it only moves about 3 inches. Since its trying to move can I assume its not the motor and that the arm is stripped and I just need a new arm? If so, where would you recommend buying a wiper arm online? I called my local dealer which is 2 hrs away and they can order one in for $40.00..

Thanks for your time.

Antonio

Have you checked the locking nut?
Make sure that is just the arm that is damaged before you go too far.

I acctually have not checked that at this point. I haven't even figured out how to get the dang arm off yet. Any insight on this would be helpful if you have time.

Thanks!

There may or may not be a plastic plug on the top of the arm mounting, pop it off and you will find an M10 nut (13mm spanner/socket) take that off then you can use a puller or a lever to get the arm of the spindle taper, hopefully you will find something loose here and the linkage will be in good shape.

I wanted to update you and let you know that I followed what you told me to do and come to find out once I took the plastic plug off, I found that the nut was really loose. I tightned it and it works like magic. Thanks so much for your help. I love this board.

A great result! It is great when a fix is so quick and simple.

I wish all jobs could be the same.
