Wiper Mechanism Play

Wiper Mechanism Play
Hello Jaguar friends,
Recently I solved a small issue that my S-Type had on the windshield wipers. During rain and especially with the rain sensor function, the left wiper arm was slamming against the left side of the wind shield, that resulted in a loud ticking sound.
Adjusting the arm had no effect and found out that the mechanism had a lot of play.
One fine day I disassembled the mechanism from the car to check which caused the play on the wiper mechanism.
Surprisingly it was not a worn pivot, but a loose axis is riveted on a arm.
The mechanism has two of these points and they both have now welded, a cheap but effective solution.
Because a picture is worth a 1000 words.
Ciao William
