So I have a 2004 Jaguar S-type 4.2 and I was curious as to how you find out exactly what wood trim my Jag has in it. I was looking on CarID at some nice dash kits that claim "Factory Match" but the options available for wood don't seem to match mine, at least not perfectly. (I know sun, heat, cold, age have taken their toll on it too).
Is there some kind of chart or tool that can help me find my wood trim? I'm at a loss D: here is a pic of my interior.
I'm pretty shore that your wood is the same as mine (wax eye maple),
I have no idea how you would confirm it . Yours looks a little lighter colour than mine
But that may be just the lighting in the photo ,
Also looks like the gear knob is not a match to the rest of your wood .
...as the email address to send any inquiries about your Jaguar.
So in 2013, I sent a request for info about my '03 S-Type, and included the VIN#. Within 24 hours, a very nice lady "Danielle Hauk" of Jaguar Customer Service responded with a lengthy list of all the standard and optional features of my car. The very last item on the list is "Birds Eye Maple Bronze" which, I'm guessing, is the interior wood trim.
She also included other ways to contact Jaguar for additional info:
"Please feel free to contact us at 1-800-4-JAGUAR, option 9, or by e-mail."
These cars come with various shades of Bird's eye maple. My STR had the grey variety and I found a kit that matched it fairly well. No one over the last 5 years plus since I installed it made any mention that it looks after market or out of place and it makes the interior look amazing IMHO. This the third set I tried and was by far the best came with not just dash trin pieces but even door latch handles and the complete coverset for ceiling light, garage door opener etc.
