Cool - that is interesting Brutal.

I need to take the projector lamps apart anyway, because they are in a bit of a dusty state inside. So that could be an opportunity to perform the type of conversion you mention above.

As Plums said, if there were a guide....... that would be handy

Nice one guys, you're all on the ball here to be fair - kudos

lol no, its alot of work. A mistake trashes an expensive light housing since theyre glass. I still need to do the high beams the same way and take out the shield to give a full hi beam projector. But i did this when i had stype assemlbies readily avail to take apart. After i learned how to fix them, suddenly they become very valueble to resell. Also you have to clearance the radiator core support to allow room for the projector assemlby to mount behind the light. Also theyre not sealed and moisture does get in them occassionally and leave water spots you cannot clean out. I dont mind (i do really but its a trade off for the light output and look which far outways this down side)
when i get around to doing it ill do a thread with pics

I sort of figured having broken bits around would be big part of it :0

Anyone know what xenon bulb type the s-type projectors take?

Would they be D2S ?

Found a uk company doing custom xenon kits. Here http://www.midnightstyling.co.uk

They talk about extras like CAN-bus (ProNight), HID Decoders. I imagine I need these to stop the errors on the dash?

Also what's the best temp to get? I was thinking of the 5000k ones they do?

I assume the main beam and side lights are the same but what about the dipped (low) beam. Same for halogen bulb and HID bulb ?

Reason is that I want the S-Type R headlights on my Sport. Basically just to get the blacked out reflectors.

Or am I better off, just separating the lenses from my halogen units and the xenon units and swapping??

Cheers

I Believe they are quite different for the main beam and for the low beam.
