I paid $150 for my cats, that price is a bit excessive. Dyno numbers speak for themselves though...

There is a post floating around with pics of the Nameless system. The donor car for them to fab that up belongs to a forum member and he posted up pics after they made it for his car.

i see on magnaflow that they also have a 2.5 (59976) and 3" (59979) size cats, can those be fitted and the o2 sensor without any issues?

I run the 2.5" inlet/outlet Magnaflows w/O2 sensors; no problems.

I just got the 59975 cats in today. They are very small and light weight. they look like they would flow very well. I did notice it saying pre obd2 but if it cleans the exhaust good enough to pass smog I will be happy.

I cant wait. I haven't floored the car since I bought it in fear of having a plugged cat.

Where are these dyno numbers? Price is baffling high, especially considering if you have a clogged cat, odds are you'll need to add some serious heat to the exhaust manifold studs to free the downpipe...

I am bringing this thread back to life partially to ask if others are having their Magna Flow high flow cats go bad after 30K miles.

My STR had Magna Flow cats installed in late 2010, and I believe that at least one is going bad. (P0420 error code and occasional "Restricted Performance" message.)

I've read in other forums that "after market" high flow cats don't last that long.

True?

I have approximately 13k miles on mine and they are fine. Not sure who has put 30k on theirs on this forum.

Anyone ever remove cats completely and have pipes made to go in place of them? Anyone ever gut the cats and reinstall them hollowed out? If you use O2 sensor spacers on the rear O2 sensors to pull them out of the exhaust flow, it shouldn't kick any codes. As long as the rear O2 sensor reads different than the front your good! Just curious if anyone has done this and how it sounds and performs? If high flow cats make that much of a difference then no cats at all should make a huge difference!

Just thinking but:
1. the back pressure will be far too low
2. the O2 sensors will be harder than that, but maybe not much harder
3. it really is not going to free up much power at all and if #1 is right it will reduce power
4. dyno before, try it, dyno after, report back - no-one's tried it

I think Michael Star was running test pipes with no cats. As mentioned, the hp gains are going to be very small and likely will cost you some low end torque if you go completely catless. A 3# pulley, high flow or no cats and an intake elbow will net you at best 40 hp at the wheels.

Instead just do an elbow, 1.5 lb pulley, Mina cat back and save up $$'s for repairs. Don't mess with the cats.

I want to swap my cats out this year, or delete them entirely... The o2 sensor spacers should eliminate any CEL issues,

Thinking magnaflow or vibrant for the high flow cats...
