ZF Fluid Prices Are Dropping....

I learned today that Whatever It Takes Transmission Parts (headquartered in Alabama with stores opening up around the country) is now selling ZF Fluid Lifeguard 6 ATF (for those of us with the 6-speed 6HP26 ZF transmission) for $21.47 per one-litre bottle. Six months ago, they were selling it for about $39 per one-litre bottle. Those of you who are still under warranty and plan to change your ATF during your warranty period should give them a call to find out the closest store to you....
Their corporate phone number is (877) 634-5699.
If this keeps up, ZF Fluid may actually become "reasonable" at some point. Whatever It Takes just opened up a store here in Raleigh a couple of months ago. I did not know this until I checked with their corporate office today....

Right you are, Rick. I posted this information primarily for the guys who decide that they must change their ATF while their cars are still under warranty. For them, going with anything other than ZF Fluid would be a foolish risk....
I'm still with you on the Castrol option. Since our warranty has long since expired, if I change our ATF I plan on going with Castrol just as you did. Our car currently shows about 50,700 miles on the odometer. Don't want to change it yet due to the possibility of the infamous ZF sleeve O-ring leak. So I check for leaks every weekend and bide my time. I may start thinking about changing the fluid if we get beyond 60,000 miles with no leak....
