Default ZF problems

Hi, Having problems with my 04 S type 3.0L Se (90k miles), gearbox fault came on a while ago but restarting removed it, changes were clunky & it seemed the box was changing down when coasting or going downhill. The gearbox fault is now staying on (only fault code is P1111) & it seems to take a bit longer to engage gear when driving off from a standstill. Airleaks, low fluid, fuel trim levels have all been suggested. Bristol Autoboxes (UK) sell a service kit with filter etc for about £115 but don't want to rush in & buy one if it's not the cause. If i find the cause I'll post what i find as the ZF box seems to prone to problems. Jaguar says it's sealed but it also says 60k is the "life time" of the box!

Some more posts and you can get JTIS / codes PDF, which both explain in detail that P1111 is a (good) status code and what it means.

At 90K miles it's due for a fluid change. Can't hurt.

P1111 is a good thing if that's all you've got for codes.
