Hello, so I am going to be replacing my lower ball joints in the next few weeks (already have them) just ordered the proper spring compressor tool (an ebay vendor, the tool will be available for rental for other forum members). I am curious though, when I do the job, will it be possible to simply remove the wishbone that has the ball joint attached to simply press it out or will I have to drop the entire spring pan?
Once I put the spring compressor in place, I only put enough tension on it to keep everything unsprung as much as possible to undo the nut on the through bolt at the frame then loosened the compressor to a totally unsprung position, but still to keep things together. Its not much at all really, the spring isn't loaded after you loosen it a bit and the compressor holds it together.
