Should I buy the XF-s
Hey guys, I've been looking at the XF-s and the Maserati Ghibli for about a month now and I'm concerned that the ghibli will come with a ton of issues compared to buying the Jag. I'm not sure which car to buy, but as of right now I am leaning towards the Jag XF-s. I'm planning on test driving both of the cars in the near future but would love your guys opinions.
Thanks a bunch

What are the years amd mileages?..How much warranty left..?
If it where me I'd go for the Maserati Ghibli..We have a dealer here in town and I know a few friends with one..No major issues or complaints that I've heard of..nothing but raw, yet refined power and pleasure..
Where as; Maserati Ghibli (RWD) is more expensive and is a lighter car
V6 Twin-Turbo Engine 345 hp @5000 rpm
Torque 369 ft lb...0-60 mph in 5.5 secs
The exhaust note sounds bad-***
Compared to: Jaguar Xf sedan (S) 3.0-liter supercharged DOHC V6, RWD eight-speed automatic
Output: 380 hp @ 6,000 rpm; Torque; 339 lb-ft @ 3,500 rpm...0-60 mph in 5.0 secs

Well in looking at the specs posted by dpk, Maserati has to be lying about the power of the Ghibli. A .5 difference in 0 to 60 is huge, and just impossible if the Maserati was a lighter and more powerful car.
My friends Quattro Porte
My friends 2011 Quattro Porte, its been in the shop several times, the major issue was in the valve train, and cost $8000 to fix. A problem and fix that was known and repaired for free in Ferraris with the same valve train issue. Maserati would not cover any part of the repair.
A coolant leak the day after 30 days and $8000 for the valve train repair.
She actually wants to trade her Maserati for an XF now..LOL
Some other considerations, how many Repair facilities are around? Jag dealers may be rare, but not as rare as Maserati dealers. The same will go for parts availability. Read the Maserati reviews too, there not very good. My feeling is Maserati is in big trouble, and Fiat may end up replacing them with Alfa Romeo in the US.
Good luck

Just giving a true Maserati experience and opinion. The fix on my friends Maserati was just a couple months ago at the nation's #1 Maserati dealer. So if this is the best Maserati's #1 can do?

My good friend has a RWD Ghibli, and one and only one positive thing I can take away from driving it is...women really love it.
Compared to XF V8 S/C I drive it is not terribly fast. It is even more cramped inside than the X250 XF. It has a very harsh and nervous ride.
Entertainment system is straight outta Compt...I mean Chrysler.
Engine while loud suffers from a pretty noticeable turbo lag.
However, as I said...women really love it!
