Anyone running 21" wheels on their F-Type?

But why...?
Perhaps I'm in the minority here, but I'm planning to go down to 19s if I can find a set that fits over the brakes. The sidewall is small enough as it is, going bigger = paper thin sidewall = flat tires. If you still plan on driving your sports car like a sports car I think you're going to be very disappointed; that and I think it would look terrible, but that's subjective.

I think the F Pace first edition may have 21" rims ? not sure; if so, they would likely fit Jaguars in general. Another source for Jaguar wheels has always been 'Coventry' wheels.

Nah, not age, just a bit of experience with bent rims and flat tires due to very poor roads ... or at least thats my guess from reading Stolen's post. The 20" are susceptible and the 21" must be 'really' susceptible.

No, not necessarily. I'm just not convinced that one inch in rim diameter, 1/2" effective tire sidewall shortness, will be the difference between happiness and pain. Hitting the same pothole that would take out a 21" would probably do similar damage to the 20".
What I do know is that replacing a factory rim will cost me $1500, replacing a Niche will cost me $300 so from a practicality standpoint, aftermarket makes sense if my concern was economy.
Tire price for 21" have come down to a few bucks of a 20" which wasn't the case a few years ago when 21" were considered exotic.
From an aesthetic standpoint, an F-Type, with a staggered 21" set-up makes the car looks like an exotic. The car will now begin to creep to Aston Martin status as an example. If you want to have wheels that look proper, that belong on a supercar...A 21" wheel will make that difference.
I've given this some thought.

I'm following with interest to. I also have the black tornado wheels on mine which I personally like the best as far as factory wheels go but I do think some nice 21 inch wheels could look great. I really like those black Misano wheels but i'd like to see them on a F Type before I pulled the trigger. I know the wheels probably weigh a ton but since I don't really plan on racing my F Type I think i'd be ok with it.

That said, some of those 21 inchers look good and it's your car.
Cheers,
Dave

I respectfully disagree on all counts.
A 1/2" of tire sidewall height makes a huge difference when there is only 2" inches to begin with. The sidewall stiffness of the tire isn't increased enough to overcome the outward force of deflection when you hit a pothole. On top of that the $300 set of rims you put on are much weaker than the OEM wheels I assure you. OEM wheels are tested and optimized for strength where as that off brand rim you are considering was only made to look nice, and likely can't take a solid impact. Very few aftermarket wheel manufactures do any sort of strength testing, which is why I'd only consider a company like HRE for an aftermarket performance wheel with such a small sidewall.
From a looks standpoint, I understand that the world prefers a bigger wheel for the bling factor, but hardly an OEM exotics use a 20" wheel. Most stick at 19s and 20s and the only reason they even go this big is to fit a larger brake package underneath. A larger wheel just makes your car slower and handle worse with increased rotating mass and compromised tread patterns.
As I said, to each his own, you like what you like. But you're entering rough waters here, and you might be disappointed.

I think I found my answer!
The 21" PUR RS05 in gloss black. Also available in 20" in all finishes as well as many other styles for those who want to stick to oem sizing. The wheels are forged and very high quality.
I sent them a request for a quick group buy.
Go to their web sight and see if theres anything that interests you.
If they agree, I'll see if we can pool our monies for some buying power.
Lets not make this a tired debate between 20" and 21" wheels. I think everyone clearly knows the pros/cons of smaller/bigger rims by now. It's been debated for decades.
Get what you like, make a smart choice based on your own needs, and enjoy the hell out of your car.

Here are the actual pics of the wheels on my car but the truth is that my car arrives Thursday. I did ask the dealership prior to buying her if there was any curb rash on the wheels and they said the wheels were 10/10. Hard to believe a car with 10K mi. would have zero rash but I'll let you know Thursday. They seem to look perfect in the pics here.
