Things to look for in 2011 XFR
I found an XFR near my house that I am considering making a move on.
its a 2011, 33k miles. 1 owner, no accidents.
Im gunna check it out this weekend. Wanted to know if there was anything I should look out for? I've had a 2009 XF and didnt have any issues (except for the horrible nav and info-tainment system)
Looking forward to hearing your feedback

OEM wheels are like butter. Check for bends/vibrations.
Check for the infamous headliner rattles. I could never get mine fixed by the dealer. A minor issue in the grand scheme of things, I suppose, but little things like that tend to drive me nuts when they intrude upon the daily driving experience.
I'm sure others can fill you in on any other mechanical issues on the older cars.

ive been reading the forums all day and not doing any of my work haha.
i've read about the rims. I feel like im going to have to replace them because NY roads are horrible!
I had the dash leather problem on my 09. I read about engine seals, coolant pump and differentials being a common issue. looks like i'll have to get a thorough PPI done (or a really good warranty)

As I think I have said elsewhere, the main things to look for on a used XFR other than the previously mentioned mechanical issues are the principle wear and tear items - brake rotors, brake pads and tyres. The XFR chews through all of these fairly quickly and they are all expensive to renew, at least compared to more "mundane" cars. It would be wise to closely inspect all of these items, only problem is that involves at least taking the wheels off. You need to inspect the inside edges of the tyres as they often wear more than the outside edges, and you should have a good look at the brake pads and the thickness and condition of the brake rotors. If any problems and/or need for replacements then you should be able to negotiate a substantial drop in the asking price then DIY the fixes, that's what I did and it saved me a couple of thousand $.
