This has been discussed before, but my front seats in my VDP are in especially rough shape... I have been searching for a set of replacement seats but can't find much for it. Are seats from an XJR compatible with a VDP
Yes, the mounting and all is the same for all seats. the xjr seats will be shaped differently in terms of padding, side bolstering, etc. than the vdp seats

Perfect, that will help open up some options. Hoping that the XJR seats are just as comfortable as the VDP seats.
I ran a full Daimler interior in my 1999 XJ, which is the same as the VDP spec in the USA. I took my friend's XJR for a drive and I decided the sports seats are much more comfier and supportive than the VDP seats, so when I was shopping for my new XJ it had to have sports seats.
As a consequence I now have a full VDP/Daimler super V8 interior spare and will shortly be selling it. Shame we're on different continents!

Is the SVDP/ Daimler Super interior the same as the n/a VDP?
I considered trying to find just the skin too and putting that on instead of redoing the whole seat.
International shipping on an entire car interior can't be THAT BAD haha
The XJR seating seems to vary a lot beween years. I know the bolstering pattern was redesigned around 2000. I drove a 98 xjr a while back and both seats felt very rocky and uncomfortable, but the ones in my 99 are very nice.
I believe the only difference between sv8 and n/a vdp seats is the sv8 ones will have fancy colored piping around the extra central padding, but the vdp padding pattern remains, with the really soft padding circles(?) in the middle of each seat section.
That's funny you mention the different colored piping, as that's exactly what my VDP has. But my seats are in desperate need of being replaced. I can drive the car cross country and have the whole interior re done for about $1800 which isn't bad. It's the taking the car cross country! Haha, that's why I am looking for different options. I do not have the factory perforated seats like that.
Ah, maybe the piping is across all vdp seats then, it was just something that stood out when I sat in a super v8 earlier this year. The perforated seats are XJR only I believe, vdp has the ones with the soft middles, and base xj8 seats have that funky ribbed padding in the centres.
I'd imagine you could replace the covers with newer vdp covers, and reuse the rest of your seats, but it all depends on how involved replacing covers is on vdp seats, and how skilled you are with doing so. After all, hog clips are the devil...
.... and have the whole interior re done for about $1800 ....
If you forget any of the courier services, but work out a normal sea-freight transport, I guess it cost more time than money.
The almost new VDP interior from Stu should be tempting ...
Here's some photos of the interior I have. Being in a Daimler it was done by Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) department. Everything is real Connelly leather, the seats, the tunnel, the parcel shelf, everything. It is beautiful, feels so nice to touch but it's a pain to keep clean as it's Ivory leather. Having white leather in your car when you spend a lot of your spare time fixing cars and rolling on the floor is a good way to guarantee regular cleaning!
The Wood in the photos is coming into my new XJ as it's beautiful and I've kept it polished to a high shine with some special Wax polish.

Did the standard VDP use the Connelly leather?
That looks exactly like my interior! Minus the "D". Furthermore, you think white leather is bad, I raise you cashmere interior color AND WHITE LAMBSWOOL floor mats.. I mean, really.... White. Wool. Floormats?
I'm wanting to do something with my seats (front & rear) also in my 98' XJR. I find they are comfortable for me anyways. Gall.com is insanely priced for what I need and I don't want some seat covers either. I can however install seat material. I'm no stranger to hog rings from back in my GM days. Any thoughts where else to get seat material??
I've got factory mats in my car, but they are normal carpet not Lambswool. To be honest I could see Lambswool being an issue for me, they'd be a bugger to keep clean. I'm going to get a set of rubber mats for my new XJ to keep in the boot in case I get caught in the rain or anything.
I'm also going to have to get a heavy duty rear seat cover to protect the seats when I take my little Dog in the car with me.
The Standard "Fluted" seats have real leather on the facings only, the rest of the interior materials are vinyl. The same goes for the sport seats, although I know of one or two XJR's which were sent back to Jaguar and re-trimmed in full leather because the brochure stated the interior was full leather but owners discovered this not to be the case on delivery. The VDP or Super V8 interiors are all full leather, and if you look at the standard and VDP interiors side by side it really stands out the difference. The interiors in these cars are easily installed or removed, I can get the full interior out, minus carpets, inside of an hour.
This may help someone as well, call or email Jerry at sales@autocustomleathers.com. Autocustomleathers.com has the patterns for the front seats and I am working on getting him the rears. Jerry told me he could do front and rears for $1200 and front only $695.

Sweet I wonder if he could do them with red stitching..
