I assume posting this finding in those older threads is redundant? Just think it is so freaking cool, want to make sure all of us know it's more of an easter egg than we thought. This car continues to make me proud. =)

While I knew about the pulse I assumed it was a human heart beat but the resting Jaguar is so much cooler. Thanks for posting the response.
It's part of a larger design and marketing theme at Jaguar about the car behaving as though it's alive.
Details like the rising vents, the heartbeat start button, the fade-in/out lighting, the feline musculature, the moving spoiler, and obviously the broad emotive range of sounds from the car are intended to convey the sense that the car is alive.
The theme is a smart one for Jaguar....
1. It fits into the voluptuous feline design heritage of the brand
2. It sets Jaguar cars apart from the boring geometric/rectilinear German and Japanese designs
3. It takes advantage of human biophilic disposition to make the F-Type a more relatable, charismatic and emotional experience for consumers.

I had a reddit thread sort of blow up about this....
I sort of added what you just said, but didn't directly quote you or this forum, because I wasn't sure that was polite. If you don't mind, I will add it, because that's fantastic info. It does mean it was truly deliberate and thoughtful. Very cool.
saying there is one invariable heart rate for any individual life form, let alone for an entire species, is utter hogwash. But cute sentiment, I guess.

You probably don't believe in Santa Claus either, do you?
Uncle Fishbits, I always read with interest each and every ( well almost each and every ) post of yours, but this one is beyond the pale....do you have any idea the time that has been wasted solely by reason of this post.
Eg: each time I enter the car...I must wait, watch and then chuckle before I start it.
Eg: I required my all suffering spouse to pause what she was doing to come to the garage to marvel at this discovery ( she did however refuse to come out while it was dark to see how much more dramatic it would be )
I worry I will stop strangers on the street to show them the marvel....hmmm
I fear I am but one of many on this forum.

That was sweet! =) Thanks much, and I will only attempt to do you proud. But I do think I am going to be over-excitedly telling people about this. LOL It's apparently across the full Jag line too..... very fun little fact. But thanks for your comment. Very nice. =)

Strange for something to fundamental to the marketing to not be present (or enabled) in every vehicle... Is it still an Easter Egg hunt?
My 2016 V6S start button does not pulse. I feel unalive.... Any ideas? Dealer visit?

My '16 V6S is alive. The start button only pulses right after you get in the car and before you push the button. You can hardly see it in the daylight, but very visible at night (it did get brighter after I tuned the car ). If it doesn't work for you, see the dealer.
