Dreaded A Drum
#22
Yea I didn't remove the blondes. I'm missing one as you can see in the picture. So that's one item I'll need to find. Well after disassembly it WAS the A drum. All the plates looked good with no marks or burn areas. I did notince however on a slightly different note We broke a T connection that has a hose into the engine, one up to the throttle body and the other I think goes to the heater valve. Any clues as to what this is called or part number See attached picture.

Still waiting on trans filter, Transgo pressure regulator and of cousre the star of the show the A Drum. Everthing should be here by Monday. Then to reassemble everything. Thanks for all the great info and help along the way. I'm sure to have more questions. Again thanks for all the help... Stay tuned.

Just a quick update on Operation A Drum repair. After a week of being to busy/sick to work on the car, today was the day to make some headway. Put in new pressure regulator, filter and pan gasket. Then reassembled the A Drum and components. Reattached the bell housing w/gasket and test fitted the Torque converter and marked postion for sliding it in. Moving along nicely. Now to get the monster off the work bench back onto the trans jack...
Now for quick question. Do you prime the torque converter or just fill it after it's back in the car?

Installation has begun. Trans bolted up to engine with no issues and troque converter and fly wheel went together fairly easy. All bolted in. Now the processs of the cats, exhaust, that stupid heat shield and assorted wires and connectoers. Hope to fill it up sometime this week and see what happens. Please keep your fingers crossed.

Thought it would be a little easier to handle. But that would've probably the smart thing to do. I am going to put some in before installing the exhaust on that side. I bought one of those cheapo transfer hand pumps from Harbor Freight. Just hoping everything is installed correctly and all works when said and done.
