ECM Not Communicating With SDD - RESOLVED
#42
If you're resuming an old session, try starting a new one. What option are you selecting to get to this screen? Pre Delivery Inspection, Measurement Applications, Service Functions, Campaigns, Diagnosis?
Start over. Select new session. Select Diagnostics, then regardless of what the screen above shows, run full diagnostics. You should get error codes that tell you it can't communicate with the ECM. I'd like to see those please, but it is looking like you need a trip to the dealer to hook this up to VCM.
Please get back to us with the codes.

Oh OK, I was thinking SDD asked if you want to start a new session before this screen. I could be wrong or Mongoose Pro starts a bit different.
This is really my last ditch effort to get it to recognize the ECM. I'm hoping if you run diagnostics it will see the ECM.
I presume you've not physically touched the ECM when this problem started? The only other thing I can think of is to disconnect the ECM overnight and reconnect but technically, that's what a hard reset accomplishes.
The power supply is connected and you're seeing a Green battery in Mongoose?
Grasping at straws at this point.

OK not good. Check fuse 19 in the primary junction box.
Lastly, f these don't work, take it to the dealer.
PINPOINT TEST G239843p19 : CHECK THE SUPPLIES AND GROUNDS TO THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM)
G239843t87 : CHECK THE PERMANENT SUPPLY TO THE ECM
1. Disconnect the ECM electrical connector, PI01. 2. Measure the voltage between PI01, pin 22 (NR) and GROUND.
• Is either voltage less than 10 volts?
-> Yes
REPAIR the circuit between the ECM and battery. This circuit includes the front power distribution box (fuse 17). For additional information, refer to the wiring diagrams. TEST the system for normal operation.
-> No
GO to Pinpoint Test G239843t88.
G239843t88 : CHECK THE EMS SUPPLY TO THE ECM
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. 2. Make sure the EMS relay is energized. 3. Measure the voltage between PI01, pins 23 and 24 (WG) and GROUND.
• Is the voltage less than 10 volts?
-> Yes
REPAIR the circuit between the ECM and battery. This circuit includes the front power distribution box (fuse 12) and the EMS relay. For additional information, refer to the wiring diagrams. TEST the system for normal operation.
-> No
GO to Pinpoint Test G239843t89.
G239843t89 : CHECK THE POWER GROUND TO THE ECM
1. Measure the resistance between PI01, pin 04 (B) and GROUND.
• Is the resistance greater than 5 ohms?
-> Yes
REPAIR the high resistance circuit. For additional information, refer to the wiring diagrams. TEST the system for normal operation.
-> No

I've checked the fuses and they were all good, haven't done any electrical voltage checks because my power supply doesn't arrive until tomorrow. Was afraid to do voltage checke without it, since that's what got me into this situation. I will check tomorrow and report back. Is there any other things I should do?
Thanks

You could park another vehicle behind your car and get some jumper cables to a running car, connect BATTERY-to-BATTERY and 'soldier on'.
VOLTAGE IS VOLTAGE.
If you connect a dozen batteries in parallel to maintain the power level, it does not matter where the power comes from. You don't have to connect your car to the electric company.

JOY, JOY,JOY! She Roars again!!!
I finally got the ECM communicating again. I can't say what part of this sequence sloved the problem but, here's what I did. I advanced the date on my computer 1 year, put IDS into data collection mode, clicked the icon next to the key on the left side of the screen to restore initial vehicle data, and then selected the campaigns icon , then ran the configure existing ECM, and magically the Big Cat came back to life.
Thanks to everyone for your concern and input. It was valuable.
