Need Help - Where did this come from?
I recently came back from a Vegas trip where I packed my luggage in the trunk as much as possible. I opened the trunk up to find this just hanging around. I have no clue where it goes to. I checked all the seals but cannot figure out where it came from. It was sitting exactly where it is in photo 1. Photo 2 shows it with my hand for size comparison.
Any ideas where this may have c
ome from?

What he said. If you remove the cargo cover (the thing thats attached by the two strings), it attachs to the front part of it. It should be glued on. I'd stop by your local dealer, show them and have them order you a new one.

I don't think it's glued on or even meant to be glued on, mine came half off a couple of months ago (when the cover fouled on the full size rear rim and tyre I loaded into the back), I just pushed it back into place and it hasn't budged since. Yours is most likely undamaged and no need for a new one. But of course you can glue it back on if you want.

Two more hints - when re-inserting the panel it's not at all easy to get the slots around the pegs, I find that they tend to sit on top of the pegs, and I need to get my head in there under the panel to sight the pegs to then reposition the slots around the pegs.
And on mine at least those slots rattled like crazy even when fully seated, I fixed the rattle by wrapping the pegs with several layers of bog standard black insulation tape, about 12 times around each peg. Keep wrapping until the slots become a very tight fit around the pegs, which may take some trial and error.

when you packed the trunk up to the gunnels, a piece of luggage probably caught the edge of that rubber lip and popped it off when the hatch lifted. Happened to me once.
