What did you do to your X350/X358 today?

I only have the two mufflers on the rear, one each bank.
It's loud when accelerating, especially around 2k rpm when cold. Driving at a constant speed you don't hear it much. The sound is a little throaty/raspy, I think it's due to the Xpipe. The rear mufflers may need to be changed to obtain a deeper more beefy V8 sound.

I have the same setup (with the stock cats). I don't consider mine loud at all. The cabin is too quiet with the windows up. With windows down the supercharger drowns a little the exhaust sound.
Perhaps the 200 cell cats is what makes yours louder.
Thanks for replying.

All this on a NA car. I imagine the R will sound even better.

After many lucky years of putting it off, I finally replaced the valley coolant hose this weekend. I feel much better knowing that ticking time bomb has been defused. While I was in there, I took the opportunity to clean and rebuild the fuel injectors, clean the camshaft and map sensors, and replace the knock sensors. Throttle response, especially under load, has definitely improved, due mainly to the new knock sensors I believe.

I've got 200 cell cats, x-pipe and the Mina mufflers. Sounds incredible. You get a wonderful startup roar, but stays civilized the rest of the time, until you press the go-pedal (I think of it now as the volume pedal). Very refined at low speeds and while cruising. No drone whatsoever. Sounds great in tunnels and parking garages.
All this on a NA car. I imagine the R will sound even better.

I forgot to mention I also have the Mina air intake, but any extra noise that may make on its own is drowned out by the exhaust.
On a side note, I wish someone would make a nicer looking intake tube (from MAF to throttle) for the NA engines. The Rs have nice shiny aftermarket ones available, while the rest of us are stuck with the stock black plastic bellows. It probably wouldn't make any real difference, but at least it would look sharp.

Replaced a faulty ballast in the drivers headlamp
Upgraded H7 high beams to 252W CREE led units
H7 252W CREE LED Headlight KIT High Power Car Beam Bulbs Replace Halogen 25200LM | eBay
Took the car test drive wow big difference in high beam plus the yellow high beam is gone
Replaced the 4 door lock actuators and added logo projectors to the door lamps
2pcs LED Door Projector Car Logo Lights Shadow Lamps No Drill For JAGUAR XJ XJL | eBay
These were a direct replacement for the red lamps in the door skin
Removed the Front fuse box to repair relay 12
Have stripped down the fuse box to the PCB, next step is to separate the 2 boards.
Going to need a bunch of solder wick to do this.
Plan is to replace all the PCB relays
More in the next few days
Cheers

I had some new wheels and tires put on my XJR today. I went with the Michelin Pilot Sports everyone on here raves about and I got a set of F-Pace wheels. The stock twin 5 spokes are all sorts of bent giving the car a bit of a shake. The ride is transformed and the shake is gone.

Repaired the engine bay fuse box
Had the headlamps polished and a new UV resin coating applied
Didn't bother to do the headlamps myself. Had a guy come out and do them for $100. Money well spent with the new coating.
Fusebox repair was straight forward but a bit of a pain
After stripping down the fusebox to get the PCB out you find thee are 2 circuit boards that are soldered together with about 50 pins.
I started removing the solder on the pins with solder wick till I found a mate had a desoldering machine. This is just like a regular soldering iron but has a hollow tip. The iron is connected to a vac pump so you just heat up the solder and press the button.
With the PCB apart it was a simple matter of getting new DIN relays and soldering it back together.
I chose to replace all the relays not just the failed one.
All in all repaired for under $100
O2 sensors are now working.
Tomorrows job is to finish putting the bumper back on then tackle replacing the door lock actuators
Cheers

I finished installing the Mina mufflers. The installation is super easy. Now aligning them was a bia___.
In all honesty, I'm not sure I like the sound. It's quieter than the stock mufflers with the x pipe but with a deeper rumble. Not what expected. Maybe 200 cel cats may help.
