Dreaded " Incorrect Part Fitted "
This started with an ABS, No ASC, No Trac., and a CEL issue. Checked the CEL code and came up with a P1137/ABS Failure. Purchased a rebuilt ABS Module, installed it, now more issues than before. Module was an LNF2210AD, correct for a 2001 XK8. Now I have Incorrect Part Fitted, Low Brake Fluid (reservoir is full), ASC Not Available, CEL, ABS BRAKE all illuminated and codes P1637,P1638 and P1642, all to do with the CAN Bus. Is this a module configuration issue or something else. It is my understanding replacing like for like module should be plug & Play. Any help would be appreciated.

The correct part number for your car is JLM21323. What is stamped on the ABS module is not a Jaguar part number that will come up in any catalogue. You might note that it matches the original one that failed.
The 9 valve solenoids in the module should be BLUE in color.
The module might need to be configured to your CAN bus as a NEW PART.
You will need to find someone with a PDU,WDS,IDS,SDD,AutoLogic or some dealer level computer to configure it to the car.

I'm betting that your new module will indeed need to be properly programmed to your car. When I had to replace my 2005 S-Type's EPB module last year, it had to be properly programmed to my car even though it was the correct, brand-new part. An indie shop's AutoLogic system was able to properly program it. No EPB issues since....

I fixed the "incorrect part fitted" + Brake fluid low message on my 2000 XKR by fixing the ABS's power feed at the engine compartment fuse box. A fan wire had shorted to the block and damaged the fuse block. For just $66 for a used fuse block on Ebay, I now have no more ABS errors, no over heating, and no limp mode. Happy times! If you get these errors, check that the connections below the fuse block are tight and clean. Brent in Big D.

My fan connector was broken and is its not available from Jaguar. I spotted this correctly fitting ford one that saved the day.

Incorrect part fitted
My 1999 has just thrown a hissy fit.
All was well last night but this morning when jumping in the car this happened:
AC unit threw a fluky message.
Wouldnt come out of park.
restricted performance message amongst others.
P1638 Manufacturer control fault code
When I removed the plug and selected D, no power steering and suspension set in hard mode.
She is back in my garage now not very well.
I cant see any electrical burns in the fuse boxes. I have never removed the ECU.
disconnected the battery for a while but no change.
now what?
Any ideas gratefully received.

Battery fitted June 2020. Its at 12.6 volts. I have since disconnected jt and popped it on charge as battery is usually the first check.
I ran out for 40 miles yesterday, had a couple of stops and all was fine.
I have looked at as many connections as I can including the ECU and cluster connections.
AC giving a fault reading on its little screen.
I think this is probably beyond my skillset now.

Fiddled around with cables. Just left with intermittent
Traction control fail and stability control fail.
Dry joint in ABS module? Thats a common fault.
Power steering back and it will come out of park.
All the warnings disappeared during a short drive but the two above popped back.
Must be a female Jag. Hissy fit over and everything now working as it should and no codes or rude messages. 🤔
No real idea what the problem was which is almost more annoying than having the problem in the first place!!
Time will tell, but next time I will check for dry solder joints on the anti lock Brake module. 🤔

I think that it is worth noting that the "INCORRECT PART FITTED" error may occur in reference to a perfectly good module if there is a poor connection (such as the power feed at a fuse box). That poor connection can create a voltage division circuit whereas a portion of the voltage is dropped across the poor connection leaving less than adequate voltage for the module. Disconnecting the connector at the module to check voltage via "front probing" may indicate an erronous "good" voltage since there is no longer a voltage division circuit. Back probing, which does not alter the existing voltage division circuit, is a much better voltage test under such conditions. (Youtube has many clips on back probing)
