Default 400 Sport badging and stitching

Hey guys,

new to the forum and ordered my 2018 convertible 400 Sport not too long ago, they said it should arrive in July or august. Has anyone in Canada heard otherwise?

also, what is your overall opinion of the yellow stitching and badging? I'm still a bit on the fence but the people I've asked love it; the contrast should make it really stand out and be unique

I think yellow looks great against black or gray. Not good against other colors. The badge is kinda dumb. I'm generally not the kind to pull them off however. I just think the name of the 400 Sport (and R Dynamic for that matter) is silly.

The yellow contrast will look good against the black. I probably wouldn't remove the emblems either.

Given the number of times "400" appears on the car, removing same could take a while...

Congrats and welcome to the group.

I literally just ordered a 2018 F-type Dynamic MT last week. I'm also in Toronto. The deliver date (surprisingly) is mid-late August; which is really fast -- my 2016 took about 5 months. I think the timing you were given sounds right given what I was told.

As for the 400 -- funny enough, I was at the dealership and they happened to have one that was just delivered. I actually like the yellow contrast to the badging. I'm not sure it was smart to put the 400 marker on the front skirt -- seems like that area is the first to end up getting scuffed. Otherwise, it really does look nice.

In many ways, I feel like it's almost impossible to make the F-type look bad. Well.... other than that pink one I saw last year -- barf.

My order was placed May 6th so I hope it comes in July as I won't likely be driving it past September here lol

Does anyone have any recommendation for leasing vs. Buying? The vehicle came in at 113k Canadian plus 13 percent tax would be 127k (before any discounts... he said I have to wait until the month of delivery as offers and specials tend to fluctuate)

offered me 1815/month with 0 down
I said I need to keep my payments at around 1000 a month and he came back with 32k down and 1000 a month all taxes in @3.9 percent financing

i would probably plan to purchase the vehicle after the 42 month lease was over, and sorry guys but no residual value was given so I can't supply that. We were simply going over the financial approval part before they ordered it.

any advice or negotiation is appreciated!

I have a policy of never ordering without first negotiating. Since these are limited in availability your negotiation might be just what the dealer has outlined for you above... No "real" negotiation other than you making a decision as to how much you want to put down. Putting more than $5K CAN down on a lease would be folly IMHO
