I still want to talk with Will Haynes - the Marketing Director for Scarborough Jaguar/Land Rover - and see what, if anything, he's heard from his F-Type customers.

If I tally it up - and I am lumping DJS in with the 99%ers - I come up with 7 definite, 1 @ 75%, and 2 others @ "Pretty Sure"?

Hummm. Not the resounding numbers I would like. Still...I will talk with Will and it would appear that we would have 10 or more F-Types...so I would say it's still looking good. And, of course, I suspect we still might get a few more Forum F-Types just finding out about this.

Let me talk with Will tomorrow and post the results.

Thanks for letting me know.

I may be in on this but will see if the Mrs will be able to take the Friday off as we will be most likely coming in that day. Will know the answer hopefully before the end of this week.

I was at the 50th anniversary OJOA ( Ontario Jaguars Owners Association) yesterday-separate post later- and spread the word so may have recruited another F Type.

Still 99%

Thanks for all your efforts

Excellent, and it's my absolute pleasure. Haven't spoke with Will from Scarborough Jaguar/Land Rover yet but I'd say this is a GO.

I did speak with the Director of Portland Head Light this morning - and I am "heading" over there, in the F-Type, later today to meet her. The great news it sounds like a visit there before breakfast at Scarborough Jaguar/Land Rover is possible. I'm thinking we leave Portland at 7:30 and it's a quick drive there (I'll figure out exactly when I go later today) and by 9:15 - when their first tour bus arrives - we're outta there. One thing though, are you familiar with Alfred Hitchcock's fabulous film "The 39 Steps"? I am. The Director of Portland Head Light mentioned to me that to get to the top of the lighthouse - without any assistance - is 89 steps. Just keep that in mind should you decide to come. It's pretty spectacular there so even should someone decide not to walk up, and down, 89 steps, it's sure to be a splendid morning.

OK...?

I'm thinking of a deadline for signing up to be the end of Aug and you can start letting me know how many people in your party (to start providing numbers to the places we'll go) when you can/want.

I just heard back from The Press Hotel [re] reservations. I will state again that The Press Hotel is where I'd want to stay (not that you'll be spending much time there...something to keep in mind should someone wish to stay elsewhere) and they are offering us a group rate of $369 + tax. Parking is an additional charge (but it's indoors and whether you park it or one of their valets - and there are 2 or 3 there that trust 100% - it'll be perfectly safe). They are holding a block of 10 rooms for us and I have to sign some paperwork in the next day or two, with - coinciding with my cut-off date - the end of Aug being the cut-off for reservations. When you call, if you call - and today would be slightly premature (since I haven't signed anything yet) - mention "2017 Jaguar Lobster Run".

Sound like a plan?

Thanks for the updates Jay - flew back from Europe yesterday, after an amazing week biking across Belgium, Luxembourg and into Germany.

Yeah, I'm 99%. My folks often visit around Columbus Day, but they and I can be flexible as to when they visit. May see if my brother wants to come out as a copilot.

Your itinerary looks exquisite, as expected.

Jay,

Would you have any use for me to cook up an online registration form to collect demographics and contact info, shirt sizes, etc? Or too early in the game for that? Willing and able now or later.

Welcome home Dave! I am not only pleased to know that you're in (that kinda was a given) but that you not only had an amazing week biking but that you made it back in one piece! S^%$ happens and just glad you're safe.

I assume your brother knows to keep the revs up?

Thank you Nati but, as you suggest, it's still a bit too early to have to do that. When the time comes it shouldn't be too difficult to acquire all the information I'll need. Right now the ONLY damn problem I'm having is posting a few of these splendid pictures I took while at Portland Head Light about an hour ago.

My F-Type is parked @ 11:00...

(Just so all are aware, having climbed up 89 steps: it's not a difficult climb but if someone suffers from acrophobia or even claustrophobia getting to the top might not be for you. The good news is the views are spectacular whether one goes up the lighthouse or not).

sorry for the late response. If we're putting it in percentage terms I'm at 40%. The gf doesn't think she can get any days off that month and I'm not too sure I'd want to make that trip alone from ny

Thanks for letting me know. With 7 @ 99% and 1 @ 75% and with a full month for people to express their interest/sign up [the end of Aug will be the dead-line], we should be OK.

What can I say other than time is the enemy. And while I DO NOT want to sway you one way or the other - and of course I'd want my girlfriend with me too; especially if my wife couldn't join me - I will say I have had the good fortune to have travelled the world, usually without the time or the money and often both. That never stopped me (of course I wouldn't advise anyone to follow my lead...other than for this event; and even then...) and, looking back, I have zero regrets.

Carpe diem I say. (Says the man who just had 2 delicious hot dogs - The NY Times #1-rated hot dog - plus a delicious locally farmed hamburger with excellent quality cheddar cheese and 5 strips of thick-slab bacon).

40% today is cool and maybe things will work out for your and your gf? I hope for your sake it does. (Where in New York would you be coming from?).

Thank you but I truly ask for no thanks or accolades; just F-Types. I do hope that you and your gf can make it but if not, perfectly understandable. Separately, for the first 14 years I lived in Maine I drove twice a month - flew every now and then - to NYC to visit my daughter. It's actually quite an easy drive...

Good luck JFerraro819 and thank you for your post!

Love it when a plan comes together. I'm in and so is my better half. Looking forward to the adventure again this year. Jay won't push folks but I'll be happy to say folks, if you don't go your really going to regret it. I remember the aftermath of last year when all learned of the stops, the food, the drives, the speed and the fun and wrote of their angst at missing it. Don't do that to yourselves a second time. Regret is a horrible thing.

Now all we need is to get British Racing Green (and Firesand...and Black) to complete the color palette. Now who do we know - well - who has BRG? Hummm...vexing.
