A lot of folks gripe about inadequate ground clearance, but I found that the OEM clearance was not only visually excessive, it caused more sway than I would have expected from the car. With the H&R springs, the car was lowered by 1.25" in front and 1.5" in the rear. Yes, there is the occasional issue approaching steep driveways, but nothing more than the inexpensive whiskers even come close to touch. Lowering the car that much also eliminates any perceptive sway.
+1. The ftype at stock height is probably has the most ground clearance of any car I've owned in the past 15 years.
Herewith some photos of my F Type R RWD height measured in flat surface:
Front Driver Side:
Driver Side Middle:
Rear Driver Side:
As you can see is at around 15.5 CM at what counts at front, around 15 CM at the side! Even more at the rear.
I would not lower it a mm because this ground clearance works for my garage ramp (photos from entering it following).
So, I will not worry at all for the cheap plastic extendable spoiler under the nose if those three pieces touch, although they did not touch at all in one of the worst ramp entries where I live and enter to park it. I am so happy that this car came with this height from ground.
The ramp to my garage looks steeper than JagAlb's. I'll have to take a picture sometime. but I never have trouble clearing it. I've learned that it's impossible to park backwards or go down declines in parking garages at >2mph without scraping though.
I can tell you that it's pretty good for a sports car. It'll scrape sometimes but in general the F Type has better ground clearance than the Toyota Prius and many many other sports cars. I think Jaguar did as well as they could with a performance vehicle which necessarily has to be lower to the ground. It's just one of the sacrifices you'll have to make with these impractical machines.
I will agree that the Jaguar rides fairly high and looks deceptively lower than it really is. The driveway to my office causes C6 Corvettes and some 911's to scrape, but my F-Type goes up and down easily enough without issue.
I scrape mine on most city parking garage ramps and the entrance to all my wife's favorite restaurants. Yet, somehow I remain compelled to lower it just a bit one of these days and still take my wife to the places she loves. It's a crazy world.
My driveway is pretty eh lol but I'm planning on getting a Jaguar FTR AWD soon and I'm not sure if this will make it up my driveway
