Would you switch from V6S Coupe to SVR Convertible?

For me the reason to buy the F Type was the crazy power and noise of the V8 - along with the wild handling. If I were looking for a car with handling finesse I would be looking at another (German) make of sports car.
Pwrsonally, for me, the F Type without the V8 doesn't make sense. Others will of course have different requirements of their cars compared to me.

I'm not so sure (look at the 2000 CX16 concept for example) but maybe so; one of the reasons I decided on the F type was that the 'vert wasn't hampered by excessive weight or loss of rigidity compared to the coupe version.....unlike the M4 as an example.
JLR may have designed the car with a future coupe in mind but the roadster it isn't just a coupe with the roof hacked off like so many other convertibles.
2 cents,
Dave

So far, I could not be happier with the switch. I firmly believe the SVR looks better in convertible form than in coupe due to the wing. It just works better on the convertible (though I still think every other F-type variant looks better as a coupe).
The noise: I am in love with it. My concerns about it being overbearing when I don't want all the theater have been assuaged. It is a genuinely polite highway cruiser when called upon to handle that task.
The seats are a substantial, noticeable upgrade, as is the steering wheel, despite lacking the aesthetic of the flat bottom, it just feels better in my hands - a bit slimmer and lighter feeling overall. The rest of the interior upgrades are nice as well - illuminated tread plates, the alcantara-like (or genuine?) touches on the dash, the carbon around the console. Just a nice place to sit.
The power difference is night and day. This thing is nuts fast, but feels extremely stable. Whomever suggested the V6S and the SVR power were not drastically different -- I can tell you, drastic is an understatement.
And I am loving the ability to drop the top and hear that engine. It's just plain fun. Convertible was a good choice.
I haven't taken it through a proper canyon run yet - that will have to wait until the weekend. But I'm counting the hours like I'm waiting for Christmas.

Is the coupe more rigid? certainly, it has to be......and since it uses the same chassis it is arguably stiffer than strictly necessary since they weren't about to make a "lighter duty" chassis for the coupe just because the roof assy added additional stiffness.
Again, one of the reasons I purchased the F type was because the 'vert wasn't hampered by a lack of rigidty or suffering from a big weight penalty compared to the HT version.....and I have no interest in owning a sportscar that isn't a drop top (though I certainly appreciate them)

A couple ideas I'm kicking around:
1.) Because I'm thinking I want to eventually buy this car at the end of the lease, I'd like to protect the paint with expel, but I also know a guy who would give me an excellent deal on a color change wrap while I'm at it. Were I to do this, I'm considering the "Pacific Blue" of the McLaren in the first attached pic. I'd keep the wing the stock carbon/black for contrast.
The result would be something close to the photoshopped second attachment (but black interior of course, and I would keep the hood scoops black).
Thoughts welcome.
2.) Trying to think of custom/vanity license plate. I don't want a play on words involving Jaguar or anything obvious. Thinking GROUP44 - only those with somewhat specific Jaguar racing knowledge would "get it" and it would be a good conversation starter regardless. And I'm originally from Virginia, so there's that added piece.

Congratulations and happy motoring.
I'm not a vanity plate guy - and there are numerous threads here devoted to vanity plates (I think) - but if I was to get a vanity place I would prefer something simple like F-17, F-16, etc.
That blue would look fabulous IMO but call me crazy - and obviously it's your car and $ - but wrapping a leased car? Needless to say one would have to remove it prior to returning - unless buying it at the end of the lease - and it seems like a lot of work and $'s on something you don't own.
And why I for one, along with some fellow Forum members, prefer buying over leasing. But, I digress.
Lots of luck!

I would suggest going with a satin matte instead. Satan mattes are only appropriate for Lambo Diablos.
