Visual mods to my XF

Pull off your wheels and go after your calipers with some Simple Green or something. I was changing the brake pads a few weeks ago on my 2009 XFS and noticed where I rested my arm on the caliper it was shiny black. Sprayed it down with brake caliper cleaner, and sure enough.. beautiful black paint with Jaguar script. I had been thinking of painting mine black, too, but a few minutes with a rag and caliper cleaner and they're beautiful.
Funny enough, oversprayed cleaner on the brake hose, so I wiped it with the rag, and found braided steel brake lines, too. My lucky day.

Here is the bottom line; TC posted his mods and asked for comments. Jaguar owners are extremely passionate about their cars....more so than most any other make. It's obvious that Jag owners have an emotional connection to the brand and I think that explains some of the replies.
I would not have made any of those mods and frankly it cheapens the look IMHO. But, it's his car and he can do whatever he wants to. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.................

Funny you said that, my little brother is turning 17 soon and I was considering getting him a 2009 XF because it's about the same price as a certified Honda Accord these days.

De-badge Front Grille
Love what you've done. Do you know if there is a way to de-badge the growler logo on the grille? Or in the alternative, where can I find a "leaper" logo (trunk logo) that would fit the front grille?

I'm not a fan of the over shiny aluminized plastic that Jaguar put on a lot of our cars.
I think it was a good decision to cover up some of it, but not all of it.
The back piece on the trunk doesn't quite look right in black, a brushed metal finish or matte silver, etc... these would be better.
I'd do the same to the side grille.
The back trim piece makes a line with the untinted part of the taillights. Having it in black breaks up this flow. Making it something that contrasts the body, and does is not an extreme contrast to the light assembly would be a huge improvement over black.

Hey TC - I love what you've done to your XF. I've been modding mine too. I have videos of most of the mods I've done on my YouTube channel. Did a video on replacing that grill too - also fitted a black grille and LED headlight bulbs. I'm waiting for my door moldings (color coded) to arrive from the USA and I'm also waiting for a carbon fibre spoiler - like the one you see on the S models. I've already changed the wheels to TSW Hurricane anthracite wheels and rewrapped my steering wheel myself with a kit I bought on AliExpress.
If you get a moment, come check out my YouTube channel to see the mods I've done.

yes old old thread resurrection...still a hot topic though.... i gues i have done some of these mods too,,,, i went with some de chroming, but i chose to match the parts to the body color so as not to draw additional attention to them, i also blacked out the window trim... mine was all done with a wrap so its 100% reversible, and the factory chrome wheels are stored away... and i really miss my STR
