Default Has total de-badging helped with the curious idiots?

I know we have a big thread about the looks when you take the badges off. But this weekends slew of bad and curious drivers has me wanting to strip mine all the way off.

While I've noticed people creeping up to see what the car was before, it's always been manageable. I think 1/2 the seat is lodged in my colon after yesterday. At least 3 people had to hit their brakes hard because they were bent over their steering wheels trying to read the f-type badge when we had to stop. And I can't count the number that got waay to close in tight traffic.

I can usually see it coming so I always give plenty of room in front to get away, but yesterday's traffic was stupid. I'm not willing to stop driving her just because there are more idjits out than normal.

So, I'm thinking the best thing to do is pull all badging except the leaper off the rear. I've already got the "jaguar" off. If there's nothing to see maybe they won't close the gap? Has anyone that's done this experienced fewer *close* chase cars?

Thanks!

I don't think that's going to help at all. How many of them are really looking at the badge and how many are just looking at the car in general?

That's why I'm asking.

From the mirror it looks like most of them are looking towards the f-type lettering. One guy was over his wheel with his forehead up against the glass. Ugh..

Most guys that want to look will pull up along side. They'll pace and then pull up. In slow traffic I'm usually just loping along in the 2 or 3 lane.

You should de-badge anyway because it looks better

Other drivers are so terrified by the sounds emitted by the Jag and my general driving style that badging has been a non issue.

Come to think of it, I don't ever have issues with people pulling up too close to the back of my car. I just have people pulling up next to me at stoplights and asking me what it is or whether it has a 12 cylinder engine. (All the lettering is stripped from the car, though the S-Badge remains).

Same. Never had this issue.

Now at work, in a camo'd car, that's a totally different story. Maybe that's why people in Michigan don't care?

OP sounds like you're driving too slow.
