Ha ha ha...sounds fair James!

Doug 1pm at the sports bar sounds swell.

I have Clarke's, Doug's and James's mobile.

Does anybody have Joe's (jryall) ?

Doug I am assuming you have Jim and Ken's?

Ditto for me.
OTOH, If I have missed someone, pls PM and I will reply.

Been very dry here too. Brother-in-law just south of me had 5mm rain about a fortnight ago while I was in Sydney . . . so much dust inside walls of rain gauge, none of it reached the bottom of the glass to register. Reckons he was diddled badly. Wants Barnaby, our pet Kiwi to investigate!

Following week, cracks in his driveway so wide and deep he had to call local Fire Brigade out . . . his dog fell into one and they had to set up a winch to lower 2 blokes with a pet harness to go down and retrieve it!

Fair dinkum mate! Hard to believe, but saw it with me own eyes. Poor dog is now so terrified to go outside when nature calls, it chains itself up to its kennel until its business is completed, then scurries back inside.

Thanks Nurse. Yes, I'll go and lie down now.

Ken

G'day Guys

Well we are almost there! I'll be away from the computer the next two days (mobile data only) so just getting in the last few confirmations:

So, we have to forgo BBQ due to insurance reasons, so we have decided on cold meats and salads.

I have so far:

Clarke:
Shade (3 x 3 metre) and a table.

Doug & Lois:
A potato salad, a coleslaw.

Jim and Nina:
Italian Antipasto plate

Me:
Cheese and Crackers

James:
Camping table

Did I get that right? I can bring along some salami as well. Perhaps we needs some more meats? Any more suggestions?

Ok and finally the Saturday and Sunday Schedule. Please let me know if there needs to be any changes.

Question for me: A 1pm meet at the Hamilton, I am assuming we are having lunch before hand at our own doing? (And then the eating will be done at 6pm at the Hamilton Hotel)

Ok I have this for Sunday. Snuck in a sneaky bottle of Pinot Noir to share also.

I just don't have too many plastic glasses floating around so feel free to bring some along and also anything else you might think we'd enjoy. (Another bottle of wine or two perhaps?)

Wine and Cheese sounds perfect

I'm on it Paul, I'll be around the PC the next couple of days so I'll keep it updated.

You are right, cash only at the gate the last few years.

Hello all,

Just checking in for perhaps final time before taking off at sparrow's on Friday morn. Noted Paul's array for Sun group lunch. Have arranged with Doug & Lois to shop some contribution but will bring with me, some sample jars courtesy of Ken's Krackerjack Kitchen.

I kid you not this time . . . as per prizewinners at Sawtell Chilli Festival, all our fam have been into this stuff since forever . . . so, I'll bring a selection of Chutneys, Kasundi, Pickles and Relishes and perhaps some Lemon, Lime & Passionfruit Butter to provide a sweet finish after all that spice.

Had already arranged to bring some bottles of red stuff, but if Friday night at Doug's goes to plan. what we don't use internally will probably be used to polish up the wheels on our Jaguars!

Gosh, I am looking forward to this entire weekend. See you soon.
Cheers and best wishes,

Ken

Just posted this on Aussie Jaguars FB page. I know there are a lot of enthusiasts there that don't belong to JDCQ. Maybe some will boost our numbers.
All along I said I would like 20 cars for our fourth year.

Hi Jim, do you want me to bring a couple of extra chairs? Doug's boot might get a bit full if you don't end up bringing the XJ40 with your tight timeline to get back to the airport Sunday arvo.

Sounds like Doug & Lois have a house full with the NSW contingent descending upon them Friday.

Busy bees aren't we all? Looking forward to meeting up with Ken, Jim and Nina again. All set for Ken to arrive Friday after lunch and share some wheel cleaning secrets. Picking up Jim and Nina at the airport for a 8:30 arrival on Saturday morning. Jim's shouting breakfast. Then back home to get settled do some shopping for ABD and fit in a light lunch here before traveling to Hamilton for a 1pm meet up. You might like to eat lunch at the Hammo if you're traveling down from the coast, Paul. Perhaps we can snack on something at Southbank before returning to Hamilton for dinner.
I think Clarke has booked the tables for 6pm. Two tables of 8 will be just right. We can spread out a little. Afterwards a cruise up to Mt Cootha lookout on the way home for a night time view of our city if everyone is up for it.
Thanks Clarke for offering to bring extra chairs for Sunday. They'll come in handy. If everyone brings their own plates, cutlery and glasses and some contribution to a cold met salad, there should be enough food to go around.
Are there any takers to meet at BP Southbound departing around 6:30 on Sunday morning or shall we all make our own way to ABD?
Not long to go now boys and girls.

If you're staying in the city overnight have you considered joining us for dinner at the Hamilton Hotel at 6pm. Would be a good night to catch up again.

Yep. Gotcha Clarke . . . and thanks for the tip . . . I will bring a couple of chairs also. As soon as you PM'd me your address for a brief coffee stop, I found that my 'puter has the same map . . . although mine doesn't have "Chateau Fireball" painted on the street nor the huge, but wobbly red arrows painted across the landscape. Very impressive to get all that red paint to stick to the Brisbane River!

With those big red arrows to guide me, what could possibly go wrong?
I'm off to bed now.

Cheers,

Ken

The river is actually brown, and by all accounts everything sticks to it. Or seems that way when you see what floats up and down it every day with the tides.
